  • Publication number: 20230349376
Abstract: A scroll pump includes a first scroll member and a second scroll member. An electromagnet is fixedly connected to one of the first scroll member and a second scroll member, and a magnetic target is fixedly connected to the other of the first scroll member and the second scroll member. The electromagnet is operable to generate a magnetic field between the electromagnet and the magnetic target, thereby establishing an axially-directed magnetic biasing force between the first scroll member and the second scroll member.

  • Publication number: 20220341422
Abstract: A scroll pump includes a first scroll member having a first involute, a second scroll member scroll member having a second involute, and a camshaft rotatably connected to the first scroll member and to the second scroll member. A link is pivotably connected to the first scroll member and the second scroll member. The first and second scroll members cooperate to define a working volume wherein a working fluid is pressurized during operation of the scroll pump. The second scroll member is configured to equalize pressure across first and second opposed surfaces of an end plate thereof. The second scroll member includes a piston and cavity configured to bias the second scroll member toward the first scroll member in response to pressure across the first and second opposed surfaces of the end plate of the second scroll member.

  • Patent number: 10716882
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for efficient expression of breast milk is provided. The device comprises a horn having a funnel for receiving a breast and a tube extending downwards from the funnel and removably connected to a first end of a main body. The main body has a stem extending downwards from a second end. The horn portion of the device can vary in size depending on the user need to accommodate varying sizes. A flexible cylindrical diaphragm and a valve is provided and are configured to engage and create a sealing between the lower portion of the main body and a container for receiving the breast milk. The use of the cylindrical diaphragm creates minor stress points along the surface of the diaphragm, thereby making it difficult to tear or damage during repeated operation and cleaning.

  • Patent number: 10188784
Abstract: One embodiment relates to a pressure sensor apparatus, including a housing with a flexible member and an aperture configured to receive a fluid. The pressure sensor apparatus further includes a first member disposed on the flexible member, a second member removably coupled to the first member configured to move in response to a pressure of the fluid and a sensor configured to detect the movement of the second member. The pressure sensor apparatus generates a pressure signal for the fluid based on the displacement of the second member.

  • Patent number: 10010886
Abstract: A sheeting is provided for use with a fluid processing cassette having a valve station with a plurality of fluid flow ports. The sheeting has a generally flexible layer and a biasing member associated with the layer. The sheeting is attached to the cassette such that the biasing member is received within the valve station. The cassette may be used with a fluid processing system having a valve actuator with a piston that is aligned with the cassette during use. In an extended position, the piston presses the sheeting against the port to prevent fluid flow through the valve station. When the piston moves from the extended position to a retracted position, it allows the sheeting to uncover the port, thereby allowing fluid flow through the valve station. The biasing member assists in displacing the sheeting from the port when the piston moves to the retracted position.
