  • Publication number: 20070020701
Abstract: A system and method are provided to detect target analytes based on magnetic resonance measurements. Magnetic structures produce distinct magnetic field regions having a size comparable to the analyte. When the analyte is bound in those regions, magnetic resonance signals from the sample are changed, leading to detection of the analyte.

  • Publication number: 20060196361
Abstract: An apparatus and a method to remove adsorbates from a fluid is described. A fluid such as compressed air is passed over a desiccant in a drying tower to adsorb moisture from the compressed air. The desiccant is regenerated in a venturi. A pressure-equalization chamber can be located between the venturi and the drying tower, and a pressure-equalization chamber can be located between the drying tower and the venturi. In another embodiment, a heater is used to assist in regeneration. In yet another embodiment, a heat-of-compression dryer is used to assist in regeneration. In yet another embodiment, a storage chamber is used to store a batch of regenerated desiccant while a second batch of desiccant is being used.

  • Publication number: 20060196356
Abstract: A gas dryer is provided in which a flowing desiccant stream is utilized. Desiccant is provided in a vessel to dry compressed gas. The vessel includes an inlet for receiving dry desiccant and an outlet for removing wet desiccant from the tower. The desiccant is regenerated as it is transported to the inlet of the vessel.

  • Patent number: 3950154
Abstract: A system for drying air comprises a pair of desiccant containing vessels alternately connected in a drying step, one of the vessels being regenerated while the other is removing moisture from air movable therethrough, with circuit means bypassing air from the air source to one of the vessels for regeneration of same, a heater in the bypass means for heating the air after being bypassed to said vessel and then passing the air to the other vessel, and a cooling circuit in shunt with said circuit means for cooling desiccant in said one vessel and passing cooled air to said other vessel.
