  • Patent number: 6709309
Abstract: A game call is provided having an elongated tube having an inlet and outlet. A diaphragm is disposed in the tube. The game call has a pump assembly with a plunger slidably received within the tube between the inlet and the diaphragm. The plunger is movable with respect to the diaphragm so that air passes over and vibrates the diaphragm when the plunger is moved toward the diaphragm.

  • Publication number: 20020058457
Abstract: A manually operated game call is provided which includes a number of contacts having a non-round cross section, and at least one band bundling the contacts to one another when manipulated by the hand of a user. The band allows the contacts to move relative to one another so that a sound of antlers striking one another is simulated when the call is operated. Also, a method for attracting an animal is providing including the steps of providing a number of contacts bundled to one another, and manually moving the contacts within the hand of a user. Each contact has a non-round cross section so that the call produces a sound similar to the sound of antlers striking one another.

  • Patent number: 5562521
Abstract: A turkey call for producing turkey sounds includes a housing having a front side with a first opening and back side with a second opening. A planar slate member is configured to be fixedly received in the second opening of the housing to form a striking surface of the turkey call. A generally dome-shaped structure is positioned within the housing in spaced relationship from the planar slate member. The dome-shaped structure has a concave surface and convex surface on opposed sides of the structure, with the concave surface facing the slate member and the convex surface facing the first opening of the housing. The dome-shaped structure and the planar slate member form a sound chamber that produces turkey sounds when the striking surface of the turkey call is placed in moving contact with a rigid member.

  • Patent number: 5477753
Abstract: A blade sharpening device is convertible between a sharpening configuration and a storage configuration. The device has an elongated body with a lower surface for resting on a support surface and an upper surface with a pair of receiving holes disposed thereon. Each of the receiving holes receives one elongated abrasive sharpening member so that the members can be supported in a V-shaped sharpening pattern when the device is in its sharpening configuration. The body also has a pair of elongated storage chambers extending along the longitudinal length of the body. Each of the storage chambers has an opening disposed on one end of the body. Each of the storage chambers receives one of the sharpening members through its respective opening when the device is in its storage configuration. A cover is pivotally secured to the body at an intermediate location and has an open position corresponding to the sharpening configuration and a closed position corresponding to the storage configuration.

  • Patent number: 5375337
Abstract: A device for assisting in the adjustment of sights for a hand gun including a base elongated in the direction of the axis of the barrel of the gun. The forward end of the base includes a pair of lateral spaced support legs, and the rear of the base includes a single vertically adjustable support leg. Adjacent the forward end is a spacer block having a bolt hole extending laterally therethrough. A clamping jaw is located adjacent each lateral side of the spacer block, with the clamping jaws having resilient foam or similar material on their inner faces. These inner faces are adapted to abut against the lateral sides of the frame of the hand gun to retain it in position and absorb recoil when the gun is fired. To move the clamping jaws into a clamping engagement with the hand gun, there is provided a bolt extending through the hole in the spacer blocks and the associated clamping jaws, with a manually operable nut threaded upon the bolt to provide a clamping force.
