  • Patent number: 5390715
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting and pruning trees is attachable to the end of the outermost boom arm of a vehicle mounted boom assembly. The apparatus includes a grapple and saw assembly comprising a grapple and saw assembly frame having a grapple is mounted thereon. A first positioning hydraulic motor is interconnected with the grapple and saw assembly to the outermost boom arm for pivoting the grapple and saw assembly about a first axis. A second positioning hydraulic motor is disposed between and interconnected with the grapple and saw assembly and first positioning motor for pivoting the grapple and saw assembly through an arc of 360.degree. about an axis disposed substantially normal to said first pivotal axis. A saw assembly is mounted on the grapple and saw assembly frame by a third positioning hydraulic motor for pivoting the saw assembly through an arc of 360.degree. about an axis disposed substantially normal to said first and second pivotal axes.

  • Patent number: 5269393
Abstract: A vehicle mounted lift apparatus includes a boom having an L-shaped support arm pivotally suspended from the outer end thereof. An occupant supporting bucket is pivotally mounted on the L-shaped arm for rotation about a vertical axis. A brake mechanism is mounted on the L-shaped arm and occupant supporting bucket below the bottom wall of the bucket for locking the bucket against rotation. • Patent number: 4784278
Abstract: A crane apparatus is provided with a lock mechanism which releasably locks the pivot axle of the personnel bucket against pivotal movement relative to the upper boom arm. The pivot axle is affixed to the bucket and projects through and is journaled on the upper boom arm. Locking elements are affixed to the pivot axle and clamping elements are affixed to and mounted within the upper boom arm. A locking bolt is operable to cause the clamping elements to be clamped against the locking elements and to lock the pivot axle against pivotal movement relative to the upper boom arm.

  • Patent number: 4441482
Abstract: A fireplace insert comprises an inner housing and an outer housing spaced from each other. Thermostatically controlled fans circulate air between the inner and outer housing to cause the air to be efficiently heated before it is distributed into the area or room to be heated. Adjustable vents control the flow of combustion air, and a baffle minimizes the loss of heat through the flue.

  • Patent number: 3931655
Abstract: An inflatable boat is preferably of sectional construction and includes a bow section, an intermediate section and a stern section which are releasably secured together. Each boat section is comprised of inflatable side members that are of generally rectangular configuration and which form the sides of the boat. Inflatable transverse members of each section are secured together and serve as seats for the boat. The sections may be readily disconnected from each other, and each section may then serve as a small buoyant craft.
