  • Patent number: 7389859
Abstract: A golf car having a hydraulic fluid brake system. The hydraulic fluid brake system is implemented as a disk brake system which is responsive to hydraulic fluid pressure generated from a master cylinder. A brake pedal and associated linkage provides input to a master cylinder to generate a hydraulic fluid pressure to control a brake caliper assembly. The brake pedal has a range of travel, where a first portion of the range defines a service mode of operation and a second portion of the range defines a parking mode of operation. In the parking mode of operation, the brake pedal and linkage engages a detent to maintain application of the brake to provide a parking mode of operation. An accumulator in the brake system provides an input force to maintain hydraulic fluid pressure sufficient to retain a parking mode of operation.

  • Patent number: 6722463
Abstract: A motor mounting system for a vehicle is provided comprising a motor carrier frame and a resilient flexible member connecting the motor carrier frame to a chassis of the vehicle. The motor carrier frame comprises an overtravel cage with a portion of the chassis projecting into the cage and being movable in the cage.

  • Patent number: 4826467
Abstract: A continuously variable power transmission including a driving pulley and a driven pulley that each include a fixed face and a movable face, the movable face being movable in a direction toward and away from the fixed face to vary the effective driving radius of the respective pulleys and thereby vary the drive ratio. The movable face of the driving pulley is actuated by a centrifugal weight assembly including a primary weight and a secondary weight each mounted on a common pivot axis. The primary and secondary weights are adapted to rotate together during a low speed range of operation of the driving pulley and the primary weight operates alone have a predetermined driving pulley speed, in order to permit rapid response to increased torque requirements at high driving pulley speeds.

  • Patent number: 4821827
Abstract: An engine-drive train subassembly for a golf cart has a generally triangular engine mounting subframe with the engine cantilevered about the rear axles and with a single position front engine mount at the apex of the triangle mounted to permit the rear axles to rotate relative to the cart body, thereby permitting the cart to travel over rough terrain without tilting the cart body. A rubberlike flexible grommet surrounds a pivotable front mount member. This grommet simply rests on a cart frame member in a boltless coupling, and thereby permits movement of the engine frame when the flexible grommet is elastically distorted including a pivoting action caused when one of the rear wheels enters a rut, etc. The rear engine mount is coupled to the cart frame by a pair of springs mounted to the axles adjacent the rear drive wheels. The engine is cantilevered about the rear axles and partly extends therebelow for a low center of gravity.
