  • Patent number: 10409019
Abstract: An optical cable assembly is provided. The cable assembly includes a plurality of subunits surrounded by an outer cable jacket, a furcation unit and optical connectors coupled to the end of each of the subunits. Each of the subunits includes an inner jacket, a plurality of optical fibers; and a tensile strength element. The first tensile strength element and the inner jackets of each subunits are coupled to the furcation unit, and the optical fibers and tensile strength elements of each subunit extend through the furcation unit without being coupled to the furcation unit. The subunit tensile strength element and optical fibers of each subunit are balanced such that both experience axial loading applied to the assembly and, under various loading conditions, the compression of the subunits is controlled and/or the axial loading of the optical fibers is limited to allow proper function of the optical connector.

  • Patent number: 10342028
Abstract: A system and method of minimizing interference and retries in an environment where two or more network protocols utilize the same frequency spectrum is disclosed. A lower-power network controller is co-located with a WIFI controller. The lower-power network controller parses incoming packets as they are received and generates a request signal once it is determined that the incoming packet is destined for this device. This maximizes the likelihood that no WIFI traffic will occur while the incoming packet is being received.

  • Patent number: 10306870
Abstract: The invention is a pet training method that uses voice recordings and playback to teach, modify, reinforce or eliminate multiple, user determinable pet behaviors. The user manually records a multiplicity of individual messages in an electronic device attached to the pet that either encourage or discourage certain behaviors in the pet or soothe the pet's anxiety. Playback of the invention's recordings may be user-initiated by manual control or, in a later phase of the training method remotely triggered by proximity detection of one or more discrete location devices. The invention allows the user to control the initial training while providing the flexibility and consistency of an automated training reinforcement process. After the user-controlled initial training process is completed, location devices can be physically positioned anywhere a desired behavior requires modification or reinforcement.
