  • Publication number: 20160047886
Abstract: A system comprises a target node having an unknown location and at least three reference nodes within communication range of the target node. Each of the reference nodes has a known location. At least one of the reference nodes is configured to initiate a two-way time of flight transaction with one or more of the other reference nodes by transmitting a respective request to the one or more other reference nodes. Each of the reference nodes is configured to transmit a reply in response to a received request. The target node is configured to observe the request and reply of each two-way time of flight transaction and to determine a respective time differential between when the target node received each respective request and its corresponding reply of each observed two-way time of flight transaction.

  • Publication number: 20150304150
Abstract: In one embodiment a method for suppressing narrowband interference in an RF signal is provided. The method includes providing a block of baseband digital samples of the RF signal and computing n-1 stages of an n stage fast Fourier transform (FFT) on the block of the baseband digital samples to produce a first block of intermediate data points. A final threshold is computed based on values of the intermediate data points. A final stage of the n stage FFT is computed from the first block of intermediate data points to produce a block of output data points, and the output data points that have an energy above the final threshold are attenuated.

  • Patent number: 8397838
Abstract: A bore hole rotary reamer includes a body having cutters rotatably mounted by one or more respective spindles. A bearing region is formed on the spindle. At least one annular seal prevents ingress of contaminant to the bearing region. A circumferential void is formed adjacent the seal. At least one passageway extends in an axial direction of the spindle to the circumferential void and a piston movable in the passageway in response to supply of pressure to an outer side of the piston from the environment which surrounds the reamer. The piston transfers pressure to fluid in the cylindrical passage on an inner side of the piston to supply pressure to the circumferential void and thereby to the seal. The pressure is substantially determined by the pressure of the environment surrounding the reamer.
