  • Publication number: 20160001036
Abstract: Devices and methods can be used to extract obstructions from medical drainage tubes. For example, this document provides catheter-based devices for insertion in a drainage tube to enable irrigation of obstructions, aspiration, and mechanical removal of obstructions. In some examples, medical drainage tube devices are used to provide an avenue for the body to expel the byproducts of an infection or inflammation. Medical drainage tubes can create a pathway from a location in the interior of a body to the surface of the body for withdrawal of fluids and discharges from a wound, sore, cavity, and the like.
