  • Patent number: 6421650
Abstract: A medication management system which includes three components to assist a patient control, monitor and manage administration of prescribed medications. The system comprises a patient component having a retrievable patient database of patient medical history, prior prescribed medications and current prescribed medications, and it includes a data transfer interface, e.g., a hardwired interface, such as an RS232 interface or infrared data transfer port. The system also includes a physician component having a retrievable physician's database of medication information and an input/output device enabling a prescribing physician to enter prescription information into the physician component. The physician's database is capable of receiving and storing patient data transferred from the patient component through said data transfer interface. The system finally also includes a pharmacist component resident on a pharmacist's computer.

  • Patent number: 5488522
Abstract: Ejection apparatus for a computer mass storage media drive. The media drive includes two insertion openings for receiving two different storage media. An actuation arm receives an actuation force for initiating ejection of storage media position within the media drive out of the media drive. The actuation arm, when actuated, initiates the ejection of either a storage media inserted into the media drive by way of a first of the two insertion openings or a storage media inserted into the media drive by way of a second of the two insertion openings.

  • Patent number: 4943877
Abstract: A tape head positioning system for a tape cartridge drive data backup system having a stepper motor with a lead screw connected to the stepper motor and a follower nut threadedly engaging the lead screw. The follower nut has a formed slot for receiving one end of a lever arm. The other end of the lever arm engages in a formed slot a head mounting assembly carrying the tape head and the lever arm is pivoted a first predetermined distance from the first end and a second predetermined distance from the second end. The ratio of the first predetermined distance to the second predetermined distance determines a mechanical advantage for the system thereby causing an inexpensive coarser stepper motor to effectuate fine adjustments of the tape head.
