  • Publication number: 20180065923
Abstract: A modular system and method for producing urea from bio-mass includes means and steps for “homogenizing” a biomass feedstock stream having components with different bulk density BTU content into a stream having a consistent bulk density BTU content. The steps include cleaning the incoming bio-mass feedstock stream to remove non-organic matter, blending the cleaned bio-mass feedstock stream to obtain a homogeneous blend having a consistent bulk density BTU content, and milling the homogeneous blend bio-mass feedstock stream to a predetermined size no greater than 12 mm.

  • Publication number: 20170275245
Abstract: A modular system and method for producing urea from stranded natural gas includes removal of foreign particulate matter to obtain a substantially homogeneous gas. The gas is processed by controlling the quality of the stranded natural gas to maintain a substantially homogenous mixture The resultant gas stream is further cleaned and compressed to a high pressure of about 3,000 psi. The resultant ammonia stream is processed in a bypass recycling loop system at 30% conversion rate at a high pressure of about 6,000 to 7,000 psi. The equipment associated with each of the process steps may be skid mounted for portability and/or contained within the footprint of a standard 48-foot flatbed trailer.

  • Patent number: 8618325
Abstract: A modular system and method for producing urea from bio-mass includes cleaning a bio-mass feedstock to remove substantially all non-organic matter; blending the cleaned bio-mass to obtain a substantially homogeneous blend; pelletizing the blended bio-mass; and gasifying the pellets in a gasifier. The bio-mass feedstock may include bio-mass materials having different processing characteristics. The gasifying step preferably includes pulverizing the pellets to a fine particle size, injecting an organic oil into the input biomass mist when needed, and controlling the feed rate to maintain a substantially constant burn temperature. The resultant syngas stream is cleaned and compressed to a high pressure of about 6,000 to 7,000 psi. The resultant ammonia stream is processed in a bypass recycling loop system at 30% conversion rate at a high pressure of about 6,000 to 7,000 psi.

  • Patent number: 4090415
Abstract: In a dual transmission system, the front transmission has a three-speed gearbox with a low, intermediate and a 1:1 input-to-output speed ratio coupled to a three-speed range unit to provide seven usable forward speeds. A converter lock-up clutch is used to provide direct mechanical drive in the upper six gears. The rear transmission has an identical three-speed range unit. An additional gear train is added to the rear transmission to provide four speeds. The additional very low speed is used in conjunction with the lowest speed of the front seven-speed transmission. Both transmissions are operated in torque converter drive in first gear only. When any of the speed ranges of the front range unit is used in conjunction with the low or intermediate input-to-output speed ratio of the front gearbox the same speed range of the rear transmission is coupled by a torque converter to the rear engine.

  • Patent number: 4057297
Abstract: A brake mechanism includes a body and a piston movable relative thereto in braking and brake-releasing directions. A spring is disposed within a chamber defined by the body and piston to urge the piston in a brake-applying direction, and pressurized air may be selectively directed to such chamber to the piston in a brake-applying direction.
