  • Patent number: 8840046
Abstract: A self-contained, hand-held paint spray gun apparatus having a paint reservoir on the gun and a turret assembly having a reversible tip for spraying paint from the reservoir through the tip and a swirl chamber adapter located between the gun and turret assembly. The tip is reversible between a SPRAY position and a CLEAN position to enable a user of the paint spray gun to rapidly and conveniently clear an obstruction in the tip and continue spraying without removing the tip. The swirl chamber adapter has a generally planar face opposing a swirl valve in the gun and forming a swirl chamber upstream of the turret assembly and has a centrally located bore extending from the generally planar face to the outlet of the adapter.

  • Patent number: 7458601
Abstract: A collapsible cart for paint sprayers including a pair of spaced apart legs, a pump support extending between the upper ends of the legs, a pair of feet, a handle extending above the pump support, and lock and release means connected to the handle, pump support and legs and operable for releasably locking the pump support and handle in a first position wherein the pump support positions the pump for operation and the handle is positioned to enable moving the cart assembly and wherein the lock and release means is further operable for releasably locking the pump support and handle in a second position wherein the cart assembly is collapsed and further wherein each foot is pivotable respect to the leg to which it is attached between a first position generally perpendicular to a lower frame member, and a second position generally adjacent to the lower frame member.

  • Publication number: 20020028103
Abstract: A paint applicator for use in spreading paint over a surface. The paint applicator includes a roller assembly, tubing, and a pump assembly. The roller assembly has a handle portion that is suitable for holding by a user, an arm portion extending from the handle portion, and a roller core removably attachable to the arm portion for rotation with respect to the arm portion. The roller core is adapted to receive a paint applicator thereover. The tubing has a central passage extending therethrough. The pump assembly conveys paint through the tubing to the roller assembly. A method and a corner paint applicator are further included.

  • Patent number: 5181832
Abstract: A housing for a fan motor for a portable paint spray gun has a compartment accessible from the bottom in which an air hose is storable and provides an air path from the fan motor to the air hose having a minimum number of turns or curves between the motor exhaust port and the air hose. The housing enhances portability by providing convenient storage for the air hose when not in use and increases fan motor efficiency by reducing drag on the air flow by providing a relatively low resistance air path from the fan motor to the air hose.

  • Patent number: 5139357
Abstract: An improved pneumatic actuator for an electrical switch having a flexible diaphragm operating through a rigid disk member actuates an electrical contact when air pressure is applied to the diaphragm. A cylindrical ring acts as a guide for the rigid disk member. The rigid disk member serves to flatten the membrane and resist permanent deformation when air pressure is released from the membrane.

  • Patent number: 5054947
Abstract: A self-contained power painting system is provided in which a battery operated motor and pump are contained in a lid for a paint reservoir, and that entire unit is adapted to be carried on a user by a strap or belt. A paint applicator, such as a brush or roller, is connected to the pump by a flexible conduit and includes a switch activator at the applicator to permit the user to selectively control operation of the pump and to move about freely while painting without being emcumbered by a relatively immobile paint reservoir or power source connection through extension cords.
