Abstract: A golf club has a high modulus of elasticity grip which is, preferably, an all-metal grip. The grip is connected to the shaft and the shaft is connected to the head without intervening material, such as by welding, brazing, force fit, pinning or similar method, or by intervening material having a modulus of elasticity 100,000 psi or greater. The golf club, or its parts, may be cast, forged, bonded, or otherwise manufactured and assembled. In the preferred embodiment, which is a putter, the grip and shaft both have high modulus of elasticity. In the putter, there is achieved a very stiff, but sensitive, low frequency "feel". Such metal or high modulus of elasticity grip is also used in irons, woods and playing utility clubs and provides an improved "feel" and sound.

Abstract: A golf club has a grip and a shaft which extends into the grip. The grip has an enclosed cavity and a partially-enclosed cavity between the inner diameter of the grip and the outer diameter of the shaft. The enclosed cavity provides a low-frequency feel and if a small cavity is also provided, a high frequency sound is provided. A matched set of golf clubs, as to feel or sound, or both, is readily obtained by such invention.

Abstract: A golf putter has a hard grip or an all-metal grip, and the grip, shaft and head are formed of a single, stiff material, or materials having closely-related moduli of elasticity, into an integral structural element. It is cast, forged, bonded, or otherwise assembled, to achieve a stiff, but sensitive "feel", for the golfer. A low frequency "feel" and sound is obtained by the shaft being closed at both ends and by one or more sound chambers or resonating elements. No dissimilar materials are included between the "sweet spot" and the golfer's hands, including in the grip. In one embodiment, toe area loft of the head is greater than the center loft and the heel area loft is less than the center loft. The putter head toe area may be closed slightly and the heel area may be opened slightly. A bulge may be included in the heel or toe areas.
