In one embodiment, the alarm or notification may include an audio, a visual and/or combination thereof signal or indication that the person is in distress. The alarm or notification may be provided on a device held or attached to the person, at a base station in proximity to the person, or a combination thereof. In one embodiment, a locator provides an ability to identify the person in distress when that person is located in proximity to other persons so that aid can be given as quickly as possible.
