Abstract: An arrowhead having a tip end, a shaft end, and a longitudinal axis intersecting the tip end and the shaft end. The arrowhead has a first portion longitudinally positioned between the tip end and the shaft end and having a first maximum diameter. The first portion is divided into a plurality of sections spaced circumferentially apart to define longitudinal grooves. Each section comprises a first planar surface, a second planar surface not parallel to the first planar surface, a concave surface adjacent to the first planar surface, the second planar surface, the rear end portion, and the front intermediate section. A longitudinally-convex surface is adjacent to the concave surface.

Abstract: An archery target having a body in the shape and size of a game animal, the body having first and second opposing side surfaces separated by a back surface and a belly surface, a first opening in the first side surface, and at least one wall extending from the first side surface bounding a cavity having a cavity volume; at least one insert in the cavity, the at least one insert having a volume and a surface corresponding to the first side surface of the body, wherein the volume is equal to or less than the cavity volume; and at least one planar target located within the cavity. After firing a set of arrows at the target, the archer can approach the target, remove the arrows, remove the inserts, and evaluate where on the paper target the arrows struck. Based on the feedback, the archer can adjust the aiming point on the exterior surface of the target accordingly.

The ferrule has plural slots or grooves extending longitudinally. The grooves receive blades. Each blade has a front portion and a rear portion. The front portion is received into a nook on the ferrule, while the rear portion forms a corner that is received by a collar on the ferrule. Some of the blades have first and second cutting edges, wherein the second cutting edge is inserted into the groove while the first cutting edge is exposed for cutting. The blades are reversible in that the first cutting edge can be put into the groove while the second cutting edge is exposed. The grooves have an edge keeper to prevent the cutting edge from becoming dulled through contact through the ferrule. There are also disclosed lopper type blades which have cutting edges swept forward.
