  • Patent number: 5586348
Abstract: An air mattress includes an underlay (1) and a number of elongate first elements (2), filled with air and fastened to the bottom part of the mattress parallel to each other and transversally against the lengthwise direction of the mattress. The first mattress elements (2) form upward directed arched structures from their cross-section when inflated with air. The mattress also includes a number of elongate air-inflatable resilient second elements (9), in connection with the first mattress elements (2). Each first element (2) is at least partly around each second element (9) outside the first element. Each first mattress element (2) includes at least one first fastening member arranged in the lengthwise direction of the mattress element and a corresponding second fastening member arranged on the underlay (7). The fastening members are removably attached to each other, so each mattress element is unfastened from the underlay and change another.

  • Patent number: 5239713
Abstract: The present inventions relates generally to a hospital bed which is secured to a vertical wall structure and which supports a patient. The apparatus includes a support frame, a transfer underlay, means for suspending the transfer underlay and means for adjusting the support frame. Specifically, the support frame has both a vertically and horizontally extending arm portions. The means for adjusting the support frame is connected to the vertical extending arm portion and to the vertical wall structure for lifting and lowering the support frame as well as for rotating the support frame about the axis of the vertically extending arm portion. The means for suspending the transfer underlay suspends the transfer underlay from underneath the horizontally extending arm portion.

  • Patent number: 4999867
Abstract: The invention relates to an air mattress (1) comprising a number of successive, elongate and bag-like elements, which can be filled with gas such as air or with some other flowing medium. The elements are arranged transversely with respect to the lengthwise axis (D--D) of the mattress and/or the bed, and are connected to each other successively in a band-like fashion. The successive elements (2, 2') are arranged so that the lengthwise seam joints (6; 6b) of the elements are located at given intervals in the bottom part (1b) of the mattress, and that the areas between these seam joints are arranged to form structures which are directed upwards from the bottom part (1b) of the mattress. The invention also relates to a method for adjusting an air mattress or the like.

  • Patent number: 4675503
Abstract: An electric resistor element which can be installed on the outer surface of a filter such as the oil or fuel filter of a combustion engine. The electric resistor element is designed especially for improving the cold starting of a combustion engine. It is suited to be employed particularly during the cold seasons, and apart from improving the cold starting, it is also designed for heating the fuel such as diesel oil before feeding it into the engine. In connection to the oil filter, onto its outer surface there is arranged the electric resistor element in such a fashion that the caloric capacity produced therein is conducted as as effectively possible into the oil filter proper and therealong further into the oil contained in the filter. The electric resistor element is formed as a wide and thin tape and attached around the oil filter, preferably in the vicinity of the filter ring between the oil filter and the engine or the like.

  • Patent number: 4522166
Abstract: The object of the invention is a device for the improving of the starting of an internal combination engine especially during the cold seasons. The device (7) comprises a chamber (10) with the inlet and outlet conduits (121,111). In combination with the chamber (10) is installed a heating element (18, 19). The chamber (10) is connected directly with the main lubricating oil duct of the engine. Preferably the heating element forms at least a part of the flow guide (14), which is installed in a direction deviating from that of the inlet and/or outlet conduit (121,111). The device may be situated anywhere between the oil filter and/or the oil pump and the parts requiring lubrication in the engine provided that there is a direct and short connection from the device to the lubricating oil ducts of the engine.
