  • Publication number: 20220186643
Abstract: The exhaust purification system of an internal combustion engine includes a filter trapping particulate matter in exhaust gas flowing through an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine and supporting a three-way catalyst, and a filter regeneration part configured to perform regeneration processing for oxidizing and removing particulate matter deposited on the filter when predetermined conditions are satisfied. The filter regeneration part is configured to increase an NO concentration in exhaust gas flowing into the filter when the predetermined conditions are satisfied compared to when the predetermined conditions are not satisfied.

  • Patent number: 10161350
Abstract: An internal-combustion engine includes: a direct fuel injector directly injecting fuel into a combustion chamber; and a control device. The control device performs: presumption processing that presumes, based on an operating condition of the internal-combustion engine, that a thermoplastic deposit is formed on an injection hole portion of the direct fuel injector; temperature control processing that increases a temperature of the injection hole portion when the thermoplastic deposit is presumed to be formed; and first removal processing that injects the fuel from the direct fuel injector after the temperature control processing.

  • Publication number: 20180010511
Abstract: A fuel injector is configured so that, when seen from a top view of a combustion chamber, a first fuel spray flux and a second fuel spray flux sandwich an electrode part of a spark plug, and the electrode part is located outside of contour surfaces of the two fuel spray fluxes. A first injection angle between a center line of the first fuel spray flux and a vertical line and a second injection angle between a center line of the second fuel spray flux and the vertical line are larger than an angle between a center line of any other fuel spray flux and the vertical line. The second injection angle is made smaller than the first injection angle so that a distance from the electrode part to the contour surface of the second fuel spray flux is larger than a distance from the electrode part to the contour surface of the first fuel spray flux.

  • Publication number: 20110264356
Abstract: The present invention has an object to make abnormal combustion of an internal combustion engine detectable by simple means at low cost. For this purpose, an abnormal combustion detecting device provided by the present invention uses a direct injection injector as means for detecting abnormal combustion. In the direct injection injector relating to the abnormal combustion detecting device, a sack chamber is provided at a tip end of a nozzle body, and a nozzle hole is formed to cause the sack chamber and a combustion chamber to communicate with each other. A needle is housed inside the nozzle body, and the sack chamber is opened and closed by the needle, whereby a fuel is directly injected into the combustion chamber.
