  • Publication number: 20110142839
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of treatment of pulmonary edema, comprising the step of administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of an agent capable of inhibiting signaling mediated by VEGFR-3, inhibiting lymphangiogenesis or inhibiting VEGF-D activity in the subject. The method may comprise the step of identifying a subject at risk of developing pulmonary edema. The invention also relates to an agent capable of inhibiting signaling mediated by VEGFR-3, inhibiting lymphangiogenesis, or inhibiting VEGF-D activity for treating pulmonary edema in a subject. Further, the invention relates to use of an agent capable of inhibiting signaling mediated by VEGFR-3, inhibiting lymphangiogenesis, or inhibiting VEGF-D activity in the manufacture of a medicament for treating pulmonary edema in a subject.

  • Patent number: 6957508
Abstract: A safety lever (safety control member) is provided in its inner surface with first, second and third positioning holes. The tapered outer end part of a safety lock (trigger blocking member) is engaged in the first positioning hole of the safety lever to retain the safety lever at a perfect lock position. In this state, the forward turning of the upper arm of the trigger is blocked by the safety lock. Thus, the trigger cannot turn even if the same is pulled. Since the safety lock is fitted in a sliding hole formed in a casing so as to be slidable in directions perpendicular to a plane in which the trigger turns, and force applied to the trigger is born by the casing, the safety lock does not deform and is able to block the movement of the trigger with reliability even if the trigger is pulled strongly. In this state where the safety lever is at the perfect lock position, the bolt blocking part of the safety lever is engaged in a groove formed in a bolt.

  • Patent number: 5970698
Abstract: A rotary spinning ring structure for use on a spinning frame or the like comprises, as principal components, a stationary tube fixedly supported on a ring rail, a slide ring, a rotating tube assembly supported for rotation by the slide ring on the stationary tube, and a balancing mechanism incorporated into the rotating tube assembly. The rotating tube assembly comprises a rotating tubular body made of an antistatic synthetic resin material, a circular brake ring made of an antistatic synthetic resin material and joined to the rotating tubular body, and a dust cover made of an antistatic synthetic resin material and put on a middle portion of the rotating tubular body. Each of the antistatic synthetic resin materials forming the rotating tubular body, the brake ring and the dust cover is a mixture of a synthetic resin, and fibers, powder or flakes of a conductive material, such as carbon and has a low volume resistivity.

  • Patent number: 5722278
Abstract: A roll forming apparatus incorporates tension rolls which feed a material along a longitudinal direction thereof. The tension rolls are arranged at predetermined intervals and are driven. Also, forming rolls which form the fed material are arranged alternatingly on both sides in the width direction of the material between adjacent tension rolls. The roll forming apparatus described above prevents scratches on the material from forming as a result of the material sliding on the forming rolls.

  • Patent number: 5341633
Abstract: In a roving winding apparatus applied to a roving frame provided with a plurality of draft parts and corresponding bobbin wheels, a bobbin shaft for driving the bobbin wheel, a bobbin rail on which the bobbin shaft is rotatably horizontally mounted along the longitudinal direction thereof, a lifting motion mechanism for lifting the bobbin rail, and a main motor for driving the draft parts at a predetermined rotational speed, wherein the bobbin shaft is driven under a controlled condition created by a servomotor to follow a digital signal output from the rotation angle detecting device applied to the common bottom front roller of the draft parts, in an adjusted optimal condition under the control of a computer system, incorporated with the lifting motion of the bobbin rail.
