Patent number: 10935966Abstract: A product inspection device and method for correctly calculating consumer and producer risks irrespective of the type of distribution of products. A characteristic value representing a predetermined product characteristic is measured for each product as a product measurement value, and a standard deviation of measurement variations in measurement results is calculated as a measurement value standard deviation. The products are determined to be conforming based on whether the measured product measurement value falls within a range of a product standard. Consumer and producer risks are calculated based on the measurement variations. The calculated consumer and producer risks are respectively and successively added up and it is determined whether the number of products having undergone the adding have reached a predetermined number. If so, the added up consumer risk and producer risk are divided by the number of products to calculate a final consumer risk and a final producer risk.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2017Date of Patent: March 2, 2021Assignee: MURATA MANUFACTURING CO., LTD.Inventors: Yuki Matsuno, Teruhisa Tsuru

Patent number: 10346509Abstract: Upper and lower limits of predetermined characteristic values of products contained in a plurality of product lots are stored in accordance with the product standard for a target product. An average value of standard deviations in the characteristic values is calculated based on a control chart for the product lots. An average value of the characteristic values is calculated, and an upper limit and a lower limit of an average value of the characteristic values in a 95% confidence interval is calculated. A measurement standard deviation representing a variation in a measuring instrument with regard to the characteristic values is estimated. One of an upper limit and a lower limit of the average value of the characteristic values in the confidence interval is updated as an average value of the characteristic values. A standard deviation in the characteristic values of the product is estimated, and an upper defect rate and a lower defect rate are calculated, so that a yield rate is calculated.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2016Date of Patent: July 9, 2019Assignee: MURATA MANUFACTURING CO., LTD.Inventors: Yuki Matsuno, Teruhisa Tsuru

Publication number: 20180306851Abstract: A product stratification device calculates a standard deviation for characteristic value variation of products. The device stratifies products into a plurality of ranks based on measured characteristic values. The device then calculates an average of the characteristic values and a deemed standard deviation that corresponds to a standard deviation for variation in the characteristic values. The characteristic values for each product belonging to one or more of the plurality of ranks are then re-measured, and the products are re-stratified into the plurality of ranks based on the re-measured characteristic values. An estimation number of products belonging to each rank is estimated based on the probability distribution for the average and the deemed standard deviation for the products. Based on the estimation number, measured value variation of the products is calculated for each item and can be used for determining whether the products are defective or non-defective.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2018Publication date: October 25, 2018Inventors: Teruhisa Tsuru, Yuki Matsuno

Publication number: 20170103043Abstract: Upper and lower limits of predetermined characteristic values of products contained in a plurality of product lots are stored in accordance with the product standard for a target product. An average value of standard deviations in the characteristic values is calculated based on a control chart for the product lots. Using data acquired by measuring the samples, an average value of the characteristic values is calculated, and an upper limit and a lower limit of an average value of the characteristic values in a 95% confidence interval is calculated. A measurement standard deviation representing a variation in a measuring instrument with regard to the characteristic values is estimated, and one of an upper limit and a lower limit of the average value of the characteristic values in the confidence interval, which corresponds to either one of the input upper and lower limits that is closer to the calculated average value of the characteristic values, is updated as an average value of the characteristic values.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2016Publication date: April 13, 2017Inventors: Yuki Matsuno, Teruhisa Tsuru
