  • Patent number: 5982727
Abstract: In an optical disc recording/reproducing apparatus having a device for seeking a predetermined position on a postscript type optical disc, a device for reading recorded data from the disc, and a device for recording data and a time table on predetermined data area and table area of the disc, respectively, a method of recording the time table comprising the steps of: reading position data corresponding to a position of each recorded data on the disc; detecting remaining data area on which no data is recorded; dividing the remaining data area into a plurality of small areas; and recording the position data of each recorded data and each small area on the time table area.

  • Patent number: 5552943
Abstract: Access to a location on a tape along a transportation path thereof is controlled by controlling a revolution velocity of a reel motor based on a distance from a current location of the tape to a preselected location thereon, and in accordance with an estimated deviation in the revolution velocity between an optimum value at which the reel motor ideally should be driven and an actual revolution velocity at which the reel motor is actually driven.

  • Patent number: 5485448
Abstract: A disk recording and reproducing apparatus which realizes a simultaneous monitoring function with a recording function with a simple pickup system is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a recording and reproducing head, a first memory for receiving and storing input signals at a first rate and supplying the stored signals at a second rate higher than the first rate so as to be recorded onto the disk medium at the second rate by means of the recording and reproducing head, a second memory for receiving and storing signals reproduced at the second rate by means of the recording and reproducing head and outputting the stored signals at a rate lower than the second rate, and a controller for controlling the recording and reproducing head to relatively scan a same portion of the disk medium twice for a predetermined period of time so that recording and reproduction occur alternately and successively at the portion of the disk medium for each predetermined number of blocks.

  • Patent number: 5291467
Abstract: An apparatus for recording a signal on a disc medium driven by a servo circuit comprises, device for generating a laser beam for recording the signal on the disc medium, device for detecting a track jump of a scan of the disc medium by the laser beam, device for storing the signal during an occurrence of the track jump, and controller for controlling the laser beam generating device, track jump detecting device and storing device so that a recording operation by the laser beam is stopped during the occurrence of the track, and the signal stored in the storing device is recorded on a predetermined area of the disc medium after the record operation becomes to be possible.
