  • Patent number: 10834166
Abstract: A transmission apparatus capable of ensuring transmission quality when switching one of duplicated video data items transmitted using different transmission paths, to the other thereof, for display. Encoding sections A and B perform first and second encoding processing for generating first and second data based on video data, respectively, so as to transmit the first and second data to a reception apparatus via first and second transmission paths, respectively. Information on a skew between the first and second data received by the reception apparatus via the first and second transmission paths is acquired, for controlling at least one of the encoding sections A and B based on the skew information such that the skew is reduced.

  • Patent number: 9253429
Abstract: There is provided a video image processing apparatus. A display device includes a first display portion for a left eye image and a second display portion for a right eye image. The apparatus comprises: video image processing means for cutting out a part of frame images from a three-dimensional video image configured as an aggregate of the frame images, a single frame image being formed by arranging a pair of a left and right eye images corresponding to the same scene in a prescribed pattern; and output means for outputting the partial image to the display device. The video image processing means, when changing the cutout position, cuts out the partial image such that an arrangement pattern of the left and right eye images in the partial image after the change matches an arrangement pattern of the first and the second display portions in the display region.

  • Patent number: 8973024
Abstract: Whether or not HDCP authentication is necessary is determined and managed for each device connected to an HDMI port. In selector control, when switching to an HDMI port to which is connected a video signal output apparatus that requires HDCP authentication, DDC access is turned off by setting an HPD signal to Low. Communication is then resumed after a predetermined amount of time has passed by setting the HPD signal to High and thereby turning the DDC access back on. When switching to an HDMI port to which is connected a video signal output apparatus that does not require HDCP authentication, the HPD signal is kept at High, and video and audio data is output without resuming the DDC access.

  • Patent number: 8823781
Abstract: A stereoscopic image display apparatus capable of generating a cursor that moves according to user operation to allow stereoscopic view with a stereoscopic image including a set of images with parallax and capable of combining and displaying the cursor on the stereoscopic image acquires a parallax amount of the stereoscopic image at a location where the cursor is combined and displayed on the stereoscopic image and calculates a moving speed of the cursor. The stereoscopic image display apparatus determines whether the cursor is moving based on the calculated moving speed and generates the cursor including a certain predetermined value as the parallax amount of the cursor if it is determined that the cursor is moving. The stereoscopic image display apparatus generates the cursor by setting the parallax amount of the cursor to the parallax amount of the acquired stereoscopic image if it is determined that the cursor is not moving.

  • Patent number: 8760523
Abstract: In case a video display apparatus is connected to a video output apparatus using communication means that disconnects an electrical connection in accordance with stop of power supply from the video output apparatus is operating in an operation mode where an output of video data is restarted after an output of video data is temporarily stopped, control is performed so that the electrical connection is not disconnected. In a state where in accordance with supply power from the video output apparatus, a control signal for establishing an electrical connection via the communication means is in an ON level, in case stop of the power supply is detected, if the video output apparatus is in an operation mode where an output of video data is restarted after an output of video data is temporarily stopped, control is performed so that the control signal is not changed to an OFF level.

  • Patent number: 8687119
Abstract: When a video output apparatus (100) is connected, a video display apparatus (200) obtains information of content data stored in the video output apparatus (100). Then, based on the obtained information, the video display apparatus (200) determines whether the content data is decodable with respect to itself. If it is not decodable, it requests the video output apparatus (100) to decode the content data before transferring the content data using a data transfer method specified. By doing this, an appropriate transfer protocol is selected automatically when transferring content data between the video display apparatus (200) and the video output apparatus (100).

  • Patent number: 8630499
Abstract: When an image processing apparatus capable of connecting to a digital camera is to perform image-correction processing on irreversible-compression encoded image data acquired from the digital camera, it is determined whether the image-correction processing can be executed by the connected digital camera. When the processing can be executed, it is confirmed whether or not RAW data that corresponds to the irreversible-compression encoded image data is present in the digital camera. If the corresponding RAW data is present in the digital camera, the digital camera is requested to execute the image-correction processing based on the RAW data. This makes it possible to suppress degradation in the image quality more than when directly correcting an irreversible-compression encoded image.
