Abstract: In the present invention, resonance chamber (128) is isolated from the inside of the hermetic container due to a seal portion having flange (118) disposed at suction muffler (110) and groove (129) formed in cylinder head (123), and the suction pressure pulsation hardly leaks into the hermetic container, thereby enabling the reduction of noise.

Abstract: A hermetic electric compressor is capable of efficiently pumping up a necessary amount of lubricating oil even at low-speed rotation and has a simple constitution to provide an excellent workablity in assembling. The hermetic electric compressor includes an oil pump. The oil pump includes (i) a slanting channel formed in the lower portion of a main shaft and slanting from the lower portion to the upper portion thereof outwardly, (ii) a throttle formed at the bottom end of the main shaft and having an inlet port of diameter smaller than the section of the slanting channel at the center thereof, and (iii) a lower communicating passage for providing a communication between the bottom end of a spiral groove and the slanting channel. This constitution is capable of effectively lift the head of the lubricating oil.

Abstract: The present invention provides a suction muffler comprising component portions formed by injection forming a thermoplastic synthetic resin and joined to each other by induction welding, and also provides a hermetic compressor including the suction muffler. The suction muffler having this configuration is superior to conventional suction mufflers having joint portions joined by ultrasonic welding and vibration welding in the uniformity of the welding strength at the whole joint portion thereof and in minimizing the occurrence of fins.
