  • Patent number: 5850776
Abstract: A fluid pressure cylinder includes a cylinder body, a piston accommodated in the cylinder body to define first and second pressure chambers therein, means for supplying fluid to each chamber to reciprocate the piston between a first stroke end and a second stroke end, first and second bumper surfaces, an annular cushion retainer connected to the first bumper surface, and an elastomeric cushion for deforming and cushioning an impact produced when the piston reaches the first stroke end. The bumper surfaces approach each other when the piston reaches the first stroke end and separate from one another when the piston moves toward the second stroke end. The cushion has a shape corresponding generally to a hollow conical section. The cushion includes a base section retained by the cushion retainer and a buffer section joined to the base section. The buffer section has an outer surface for contacting the second bumper surface and an inner surface that faces the first bumper surface.

  • Patent number: 5634390
Abstract: Disclosed is a rotary actuator utilizing magnetic screws which are stably rotatable at a great torque with little torque variation. The rotary actuator comprising (a) a closed hollow cylinder, a piston sliding within the cylinder, and a rotary shaft which rotates with the sliding of the piston, has (b) a first magnetic screw member which makes a linear motion in synchronism with the sliding of the piston, and is provided with a first spiral magnetized band, and (c) a rotary shaft rotatably supported in relation to the first magnetic screw member, and having a second magnetic screw provided with a second spiral magnetized band. (d) With the sliding of the piston, the second magnetic screw receives the magnetic force from the first magnetic screw to thereby rotate the rotating shaft.

  • Patent number: 5473971
Abstract: Disclosed is a rodless cylinder having a cylinder barrel with a slit formed axially therein. A piston is movably housed in the cylinder barrel. A mounting table is disposed movably along the external surface of the cylinder barrel and connected to the piston through the slit. An external actuator is mounted on the mounting table and designed to be driven by a pressure fluid. A passage, through which a pressure fluid can pass, is defined in the cylinder barrel. An inlet is provided in the cylinder barrel so as to introduce the pressure fluid in the passage to the mounting table side. An outlet is provided on the mounting table so as to supply the pressure fluid introduced from the inlet to the external actuator.

  • Patent number: 4805516
Abstract: An axial air motor having a plurality of cylinders disposed around the axis of rotation of an output shaft in such a manner that the direction of movement of the pistons is parallel with the output shaft. The air motor is provided with a swash plate which is rotatably mounted on the output shaft through a bearing and which is directly pressed by means of a ball which is mounted on each piston. Accordingly, the structure of the motor as a whole is simplified and the frictional resistance occurring between constituent parts can be minimized. Thus, it is possible to achieve an efficient axial air motor. Further, since a lubricant can be charged in a hole for receiving the ball in advance, it is possible to reduce the frictional resistance occurring between the ball and the swash plate even in a non-lubricated operation.
