  • Publication number: 20230255477
Abstract: A characteristic testing system may comprise a line of sight detection unit, a target display unit, a visual recognition determination unit, and a characteristic testing unit. The line of sight detection unit may detect a line of sight of the user and output information pertaining to a direction of the line of sight. The target display unit may cause targets to be displayed. The visual recognition determination unit may carry out determination as to whether or not the user has visually recognized targets. The characteristic testing unit may control the target display unit and carry out testing with respect to the characteristic of the user based on movement of the line of sight when the targets are displayed. The characteristic testing unit may comprise a multiple target testing unit that carries out testing with respect to the characteristic of the user when a plurality of targets are simultaneously displayed.

  • Publication number: 20230190091
Abstract: A visibility determination system for determining whether a target at a position not in a line of sight of a user is visible to the user may comprise a line of sight detection unit that detects the line of sight of the user; a visual recognition determination unit that determines whether the user has visually recognized the target based on the line of sight and the position of the target; and a visibility determination unit that determines whether the target was visible to (seen by) the user. Visibility determination may be based on an arrival path which is a path taken by the line of sight, and/or an arrival time which is a time taken by the line of sight, in going from an initial position that the line of sight was in at a time that the target was displayed until the line of sight arrived at the target.

  • Publication number: 20230023605
Abstract: A visual field testing apparatus may comprise a display; a line of sight detection unit that detects a line of sight of a user; a visual recognition determination unit that carries out determination as to whether or not the user has visually recognized the target; a target display unit that causes a gazing target and a measurement target to be sequentially displayed at the display; and a visual field testing unit that carries out visual field testing by causing visual recognition determination to be carried out with respect to the measurement target by the visual recognition determination unit as the gazing target and the measurement target are sequentially displayed by the target display unit. The visual field testing unit may have a central scotoma possessor testing mode in which the gazing target is displayed at the display 13 for the eye opposite the eye being tested.

  • Patent number: 9639970
Abstract: A character recognition system for recognizing character(s) displayed on display(s) of computer(s). In one embodiment, memory device(s) store recognition dictionaries, and there may be a separate recognition dictionary for each display font and character size combination. Such a recognition dictionary may contain information pertaining to arrangement of constituent dots making up each character of a corresponding display font and character size. A character recognition unit may identify target character(s) displayed on display(s) by searching such recognition dictionary or dictionaries and extracting therefrom character(s) for which information pertaining to arrangement of constituent dots making up extracted character(s) is a perfect match for target character(s) displayed on display(s).
