  • Patent number: 7394966
Abstract: An image capture apparatus includes an image capture unit, a recording unit, a wireless communication unit and a control unit. The recording unit records digital image captured by the image capture unit on a recording medium. The wireless communication unit transmits the digital image recorded on the recording medium to an external recording apparatus. The control unit determines, using additional information corresponding to the digital image recorded on the recording medium, whether or not the digital image recorded on the recording medium is already transmitted to the external recording apparatus. The additional information is received from the external recording apparatus. The control unit controls the wireless communication unit to transmit the digital image recorded on the recording medium to the external recording apparatus if the control unit determines that the digital image recorded on the recording medium is not already transmitted to the external recording apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6999116
Abstract: An image processing apparatus for reducing image deterioration caused by a saturated area of an image signal obtained from an image sensor. Specifically, an image signal output from a CCD has a saturated portion that is detected by a saturation detector and has red, green and blue signals separated from it by a color separation unit. Prescribed processing is then applied to obtain color difference signals. A signal indicative of the saturated portion is stored in a FIFO memory and is subsequently read out. A control signal generator then generates a control signal with a prescribed waveform at the periphery of the saturated portion, and the control signal is also stored in a memory. The control signal is then read out of the memory and applied to a suppression signal generator, which outputs a suppression signal. Finally, a suppression circuit suppresses the color difference signals in conformity with the prescribed waveform.

  • Patent number: 6538696
Abstract: A CCD converts an optical image of an object formed on its image sensing surface into electrical charges, and sequentially outputs the electrical charges of all of the light receiving pixels in one scanning operation in non-interlaced form. The outputs from the CCD are converted to the digital image signals by an analog-digital converter. A camera signal processing unit processes the digital image signals, thereby generating two streams of signals; one is digital video signals SV1 which are standard digital video signals in interlaced form, and the other is signals SV2 which are not outputted as the digital video signals SV1 out of the digital image signals of all of the light receiving pixels. These two streams of signals, SV1 and SV2, are processed differently depending upon a mode selected by a switch.

  • Patent number: 6204878
Abstract: For obtaining both still and moving images in satisfactory manner in an image pickup device, in addition to a circuit for generating a moving image, frame recursive filters 18, 19, 20 and an interface circuit 21 are provided for generating a still image. Wide-band color signals R, G, B generated from the signals obtained from the CCD are subjected to a filtering process in the frame recursive filters 18, 19, 20 and the image retained in the filters 18, 19, 20 as a result of the filtering process is released as a still image under the control by the interface circuit 21. Thus the still and moving images can be generated respectively according to the required characteristics, without color blotting or color aberration and without deterioration in the color reproducibility and in the S/N ratio.
