    Abstract: A magnetic head for recording information on both sides of a magnetic medium utilizing perpendicular recording has two similar head blocks disposed opposite to each other. The magnetic medium having recording films on its both sides is placed between the two head blocks. Each of the blocks consists of an auxiliary magnetic pole, a main magnetic pole enclosed in the auxiliary pole, and a coil wound around the auxiliary pole.
