  • Patent number: 4716879
Abstract: A fuel injection supply system for an internal combustion engine provided with an even number more than four cylinders. The first intake manifold is connected to the first cylinder group comprising one half of the cylinders and the second intake manifold is connected to the second cylinder group comprising the other half of the cylinders. A passage collector member is provided which collects the intake passages so as to communicate the intake ports of the first and second manifolds each other, and the first fuel supply device is disposed at the converging portion of the first intake manifold and the second fuel supply device is disposed at the converging portion of the second intake manifold.

  • Patent number: 4703743
Abstract: A vibration-increasing block having a cylindrical vibrator affixed to a free end thereof is inserted into a suction passage through a lateral bore of an atomizer body of a fuel supply device for an internal combustion engine. A filler member is inserted into a space between the inner surface of the lateral bore and the outer surface of the vibration-increasing block after the vibration-increasing block has been inserted into the lateral bore. The filler member may be formed integrally or may be divided into a plurality of components. With the installation of the filler member into the space, fuel does not collect between the inner surface of the lateral bore and the outer surface of the vibration-increasing block, so that fuel does not flow along the wall of the atomizer body.

  • Patent number: 4589381
Abstract: An intake system for an internal combustion engine has an induction passage which extends substantially horizontally from a throttle body accommodating a throttle valve to an intake manifold of the engine. A fuel injector is disposed in the throttle body substantially coaxially with the throttle body. Fuel is supplied to the injector through a fuel inlet passage, while excess fuel is returned through a fuel outlet passage. At least the fuel outlet passage extends upwardly from the injector.

  • Patent number: 4363303
Abstract: A throttle valve opening control device for an internal combustion engine operative to control the opening of a throttle valve by supplying a signal based on the results of feeding of operation parameters of the internal combustion engine into a computer to a throttle valve actuator comprising an initial stage speed reducing gear secured to a DC motor, and a final stage speed reducing gear for driving an output shaft for opening and closing the throttle valve. The initial stage speed reducing gear and the final stage speed reducing gear are located on the same axial line, and a side of the initial stage speed reducing gear opposite the side thereof at which the DC motor is secured is in bearing relation to the final stage speed reducing gear.

  • Patent number: 4173955
Abstract: An exhaust-gas recirculation (EGR) system for an internal-combustion engine comprises an EGR valve for controlling the amount of exhaust-gas recirculation installed midway in an EGR passage that establishes communication between the intake and exhaust pipes of the engine, and an exhaust-gas transducer valve for opening and closing by the exhaust pressure of the exhaust gas an atmospheric-releasing orifice formed midway in a vacuum conduit for introducing vacuum into the EGR valve. An acceleration control unit is connected to the exhaust-pressure transducer valve to prevent the entry of air from the atmospheric-releasing orifice into the vacuum conduit in the early stage of engine acceleration, even while the transducer valve is in operation, so as to control the generation of nitrous oxides during the acceleration.

  • Patent number: 4173204
Abstract: A control valve of an exhaust recirculation apparatus comprises an expansible vacuum chamber communicating with a venturi portion and having a first diaphragm and a spring urging the diaphragm to expand the chamber, an expansible exhaust pressure chamber having a second diaphragm disposed to oppose the first diaphragm at a distance and communicating with an exhaust inflow chamber, a control chamber disposed between the above chambers and defined by the first and second diaphragms and a frame mounting the first and second diaphragms thereon. The first and second diaphragms are connected by a bracket to which a seal member is secured through a block. In the control chamber is disposed a conduit one end of which has an opening facing the seal member with a gap therebetween, the other end communicates with a throttle portion and an exhaust gas recirculation valve provided in an exhaust recirculation passage.
