  • Patent number: 4681210
Abstract: Apparatus for feeding a bar or several bars in a vertical pile along a predetermined horizontal path extending through a bending station, where the bars are bent into desired shape. A first conveyor has mounted thereto a first gripper assembly, which releasably grips the bar or bars, for feeding successive requires lengths of the bar or bars to the bending station. Arranged collinearly with the first conveyor, a second conveyor has a second gripper assembly and coacts with the first conveyor for transporting the bar or bars through, and away from, the bending station with the progress of bar bending. The second gripper assembly is further movable up and down on the second conveyor. Upon completion of the bending of the bar or bars, the second gripper assembly grips the bent bar or bars while being lowered, then is raised for lifting the bar or bars out of engagement with the bending mechanism at the bending station, and then is transported by the second conveyor away from the bending station.

  • Patent number: 4653367
Abstract: Two pairs of opposed feed rolls are rotatably mounted on the upstream and downstream sides, respectively, of a bar cutting mechanism with respect to the predetermined traveling direction of the bar. Each feed roll pair comprises a fixed feed roll on one side of the bar and a movable feed roll on the other side, with the movable feed roll being movable toward and away from the fixed feed roll. A drive mechanism constantly rotates each pair of opposed feed rolls, so that the bar is fed only when being pressed against the fixed feed roll by the movable feed roll. The feed roll pair on the downstream side of the cutting mechanism is further jointly movable laterally of the path of the bar against the force of a spring for lessening the load exerted thereon, and for preventing the bending of the bar, when the bar is being cut by the cutting mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4648786
Abstract: A press machine has a transfer device for transferring blanks to be machined from a blank supply station to a blank machining station. The transfer device includes a rail extending in the longitudinal direction of a bed of the press machine and mounted in front of a press machine body through brackets fixedly secured, respectively, to side faces of the press machine body, a main body located in front of the press machine body so as to be movable along the rail, a lift member mounted on the main body so as to be movable in the vertical direction, a transfer unit fitted to the lift member so as to be movable back and forth with respect to the press machine body, and drive units for driving the main body, lift member and transfer unit, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4550588
Abstract: A press machine adapted for the production of many different types of products in limited quantities. The press machine comprises a plurality of lower dies mounted on a bolster and a plurality of upper dies each mounted to a slide facing to the respective lower dies. Each upper die is mounted to the slide by means of a die clamper via an adapter plate and each upper die is biased upwards by coil springs so that a predetermined gap exists between each pair of upper and lower dies when the slide is moved down to a bottom dead center. An activating plate can be insertable between the slide and each adapter plate so that the activated upper die is allowed to make contact with the opposing lower die.

  • Patent number: 4088000
Abstract: A hot forging machine having die preheating unit thereby allowing the die to be heated at a required temperature while the forging machine is in operation. The apparatus comprises a forging machine having a moving bolster, a pair of main rails extending from said forging machine, two pairs of first and second branch rails provided perpendicular to said main rails, a heating unit for the die provided at one end of said first branch rails, and a pattern change unit for changing and/or repairing the die provided at one end of said second branch rails, the moving bolster of said forging machine being adapted to run on said respective rails.
