    Abstract: A toner case includes a case main body, an attachment member and a conveying member. The case main body has a discharge port configured to discharge a toner. The attachment member is provided at the case main body to be rotatable in normal and reverse rotation directions around a rotation axis. The conveying member is rotatable in the normal and reverse rotation direction around the rotation axis to convey the toner from/to the inside of the case main body to/from a side of the discharge port. When the attachment member is reversely rotated, the conveying member is moved in a direction of the rotation axis between a first position in which the conveying member is reversely rotated together with the attachment member and a second position in which the attachment member runs idle.

    Abstract: An unit is provided with a friction member which is disposed at a position that is on a downstream side of a drive roller driving a belt and is on an immediate upstream side of a position sensor. The friction member wipes off contaminants adhering to a rear surface of the running belt, thereby constantly keeping the rear surface clean, and therefore, no toner scatters to the sensor. Further, the friction member gives a moderate tension to the belt, so that the posture of the belt is stabilized at a position where it passes the sensor, resulting in enhanced detection accuracy of the sensor.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes photoconductive drums aligned side by side for toner images in colors to be formed on peripheral surfaces thereof. A transfer belt turns while stretched over rollers for the toner images to be transferred thereon by being superimposed one another as a surface thereof abuts on the peripheral surfaces of the photoconductive drums. A transfer roller transfers the toner images from the transfer belt onto a recording sheet. The transfer belt uses the position of the transfer roller as a turning position and turns to have a first side that moves in a first direction towards the turning position while abutting the peripheral surfaces of the photoconductive drums and a second side that moves opposite to the first direction using the turning position as a starting point. A cooling mechanism cools the transfer belt by circulating taken-in outside air along a surface of the second side.
