  • Patent number: 7919718
Abstract: An acceleration switch includes a closed container further including a cylindrical housing and a substantially circular metal header plate, a conductive lead terminal inserted through a hole of the header plate and hermetically fixed in the hole, a contact member secured to a distal end of the lead terminal and having a plurality of elastically deformable movable contacts substantially concentric about the distal end of the lead terminal, a conductive inertia ball accommodated in the container and caused to roll in the housing thereby to contact the movable contact, whereby the housing and the contact member are rendered conductive, and a braking member disposed between the movable contacts so as to be capable of urging the inertia ball in a direction of a center of the closed container. The braking member includes an elastically deformable braking portion which is extended so as to normally contact the inertia ball.

  • Patent number: 7839259
Abstract: A structure for mounting a temperature switch on a compressor of a vehicle air-conditioner is disclosed. The switch has a cylindrical metal container and a thermally responsive element disposed on a container bottom. The structure includes a housing recess for housing the switch, a fixing cover including an upper cover and one or plural band-shaped legs downwardly extending from a peripheral edge of the cover and housed in the recess with the switch, and one or plural claws formed on the fixing cover legs. When the switch is housed in the recess, the claws are engaged with an inner surface of the recess to be locked. An adhesive is interposed between the switch and the recess when the switch is housed in the recess. The legs are constructed so that parts of the legs are buried in the adhesive when the switch is housed in the recess.

  • Publication number: 20100090793
Abstract: An installation structure for a temperature switch, used for a compressor of an air conditioner for a vehicle and having a cylindrical metal container with a bottom and a circular shallow dish-like thermally actuated plate placed at the bottom of the inside of the metal container. The installation structure further has a receiving recess provided in the front face of a housing of the compressor and in which the temperature switch is received, and also has one or more claws provided on a side of the temperature switch. When the temperature switch is received in the recess, the claws are engaged with the inner surface of the recess, which causes the temperature switch to be fixed inside the receiving recess.

  • Publication number: 20080202901
Abstract: An acceleration switch permits a current to flow between a housing and a contact member when a conductive inertia ball stored in an airtight container composed of a header plate and a housing is brought into contact with a movable contact of the contact member. In the acceleration switch, a braking portion composed of an elastic deformable braking member is arranged between movable contacts.

  • Patent number: 7243530
Abstract: A free fall sensor includes an electrically conductive container, an electrically conductive pin having an end inserted into the container, and a movable electrode enclosed in the container, the movable electrode including a coil spring cantilevered on the end of the conductive pin and a weight disposed in an inner space of the coil spring so as to be movable and so as to be prevented from falling off. The weight is a sphere having a smaller diameter than the coil spring.

  • Patent number: 6612157
Abstract: A free fall sensor for detecting a falling state of portable electronic equipment such as notebook personal computers includes a movable electrode including a plurality of moving portions disposed on a circumference at regular intervals so as to be equidistant from a central axis, a fixed electrode disposed outside the movable electrode so as to be brought into contact with and separated from the movable electrode, an inertial member located inside the moving portions of the movable electrode, and a buffer preventing the inertial member from contacting the fixed electrode so that the moving portions serving as movable electrodes are held between the fixed electrode and the inertial member thereby to be prevented from being pressed or rolled. The central axis makes a right angle with a direction of gravity.
