  • Publication number: 20050120410
Abstract: The present invention pertains to nucleic acid molecules isolated from Arabidopisis thaliana comprising nucleotide sequences that encode proteins for biotic and abiotic stress tolerance. The invention particularly relates to methods of using nucleic acid molecules and/or proteins from Arabidopisis in transgenic plants to confer enhanced biotic and/or abiotic stress tolerance, and to use such nucleic acids to assist germplasm enhancement by breeding. In particular, the invention pertains to nucleic acid molecules isolated from Arabidopisis thaliana of the BOS1 cDNA and genomic gene and encoding the BOS1 polypeptide. The present invention also pertains to nucleic acid molecules isolated from Arabidopisis thaliana that encode a promoter from the BOS1 gene, and methods of using the promoter. Also, the invention relates to host cells, plants or progeny thereof comprising the nucleic acid molecules or recombinant molecules described herein.
