  • Patent number: 7137933
Abstract: Device and methods for strengthening and toning the abdominal and gluteal muscles. A seat is mounted in a fixed position on a base, and a back is pivotally mounted for movement about an axis toward the rear of the seat, with springs or elastic cords yieldably urging the backrest to pivot in an upward direction toward a raised position. To strengthen and condition the upper, lateral and oblique abdominal muscles and gluteal muscles, an exerciser rests upon the seat, with his back against the backrest, and the elastic cords or springs assist him in raising his back and also allow him to extend to the full range of backward motion while absorbing the impact of that motion. To exercise the lower abdominal muscles and gluteal muscles, the exerciser reclines on the seat, with his legs on the backrest and the elastic cords or springs assisting him in raising his legs and absorbing the impact of lowering them.

  • Patent number: 7018325
Abstract: Weightlifting system having a bench, a pair of weight stands on opposite sides of the bench, an elongated bar extending over the bench between the weight stands, and weight plates on the weight stands for selective attachment to the bar without being removed from the weight stands. The bench can be moved between raised and lowered positions relative to the bar, and individually operable leg extension bars are positioned at one end of the bench, with weight plates resting on supports near the leg extension bars adapted to be selectively attached to the leg extension bars without being removed from the supports. In one disclosed embodiment, a frame having a pair of upright posts is positioned between the weight stands, and a pair of guides are connected to the bar and mounted on the posts for movement along the posts.

  • Patent number: 6921354
Abstract: Exercise device and method in which the device comprises a pair of elongated flexible straps, with hand grips and an anchor attached to the straps. The straps are adapted to pass between a door and the jamb in which it is mounted, with the anchor and the grips on opposite sides of the door, and the anchor abutting against the door to retain the straps in position when a pull is exerted on them by an exerciser. The exerciser leans away from the door, and does an exercises while holding the grips and leaning so that the weight of his body serves as resistance for the exercises.

  • Patent number: 6723357
Abstract: High energy food product which consists primarily of an admixture of barley, flax and teff, and a binder which holds the admixture together. The binder includes corn syrup, honey, canola oil, ground sunflower seeds, and it is added to the admixture after the barley, flax and teff have been mixed together. The process is carried out in a way which prevents light from causing deterioration of either the admixture or the final product.

  • Patent number: 6716144
Abstract: The present invention provides and exercise device and methods designed to assist the exerciser in all abdominal strengthening exercises by use of an adjustable resilient means to provide resistance and absorb impact for the exerciser's eccentric range of motion, while supporting or boosting exerciser's concentric range of motion. This device offers maximum support for the exerciser's hips and back through the full range of abdominal exercises. The device includes a seat member and back member pivotally connected so that the seat and back provide a horizontal platform for the exerciser's use in a full range of abdominal exercise. When the preferred embodiment is not in use, the back member and seat member fold together for ease of storage or portability. A second embodiment offers the advanced exerciser adjustable foot positioning and back member positioning and is supported by an external frame assembly.
