Abstract: A multiple-disc player includes a player housing in which a disc holder housing discs held on respective plate-like trays is loaded. Desired discs are selected and transferred successively from the disc holder onto the disc carrying surface of a turntable by a disc pickup/transfer mechanism for continuous disc playback operation. A playback means including the turntable is supported on a support member through a vibration-resistant mechanism. The support member is movable between retracted and unretracted positions with respect to the trays as they are pushed out of the disc holder. When the support member is in the unretracted position, the playback means is fixed to the player housing by a lock mechanism for increased resistance to vibration.

Abstract: A carriage supporting apparatus in a disc player is disclosed which comprises a carriage plate; a holder for supporting the carriage plate; a first damper portion provided at one of the carriage plate and the holder, the first damper portion having an annular surface and a plurality of pleat-like projections formed on the annular surface; a second damper portion provided at remaining one of the holder and the carriage and having an annular portion which confronts, with a space, the pleat-like projections of the first damper portion; and a cup-shaped thin wall portion disposed between the first and second damper portions.

Abstract: A cassette deck includes a reel shaft on the tape supply side provided with a tapered portion for engaging a cassette reel and an elastic member supporting the reel from below which prevents the reel from striking the lower wall of the cassette case due to vibration of the deck or the like. The improvement effectively eliminates the generation of wow due to tape deck vibration.
