  • Patent number: 8244100
Abstract: An information reproducing apparatus for making sure a viewer watches commercial broadcast information contained in broadcast information. Concretely, a sequentially supplied series of broadcast data is stored in a storage unit linked with a supplied sequence. Also, based on predetermined identification information contained in this broadcast data, the commercial portions of the broadcast data are detected at a commercial detector. At the time of reproduction of the broadcast data, the detected commercial portions are first sequentially read from the storage unit and reproduced as images, audio, etc. at a reproduction unit. Then, after all detected commercial portions are reproduced, another series of broadcast data other than the commercial portions is read from the storage unit in sequence in accordance with the supplied sequence and reproduced at the reproduction unit.

  • Patent number: 6466182
Abstract: A video image displaying apparatus and video image displaying method, applicable to the supplying, by arranging a plurality of picture displaying devices for instance on the inner walls of a tunnel, of consecutive articulated images by the plurality of picture displaying devices to occupants of a train to provide consecutive articulated images using these still pictures without, for instance, causing trouble to the performance by the driver of the mobile object. Blinking of still pictures at terminal displaying apparatuses is started and ended after waiting for the passage of a prescribed part of the mobile object.

  • Publication number: 20020003510
Abstract: An image display apparatus and an image display method for a vehicle provided for achieving stable image display in accordance with the velocity of the vehicle throughout the period in which the vehicle passes through the system installation section. An incoming velocity detector and an outgoing velocity detector are each provided at the ends of the system installation section. The velocity of a train is detected throughout the period in which the train passes through the system installation section. Display timing of display terminals is controlled in accordance with the detected velocity. As a result, even if the velocity of the train changes while the train passes through the system installation section, no drifts of the image viewed by the passenger on the train would result.

  • Patent number: 6169568
Abstract: An entertainment system wherein a video image and an image containing icons, both having an aspect ratio of 4:3, are displayed on a display screen with an aspect ratio of 16:9 in such a manner that they do not overlap each other. This enables the user to enjoy a clean video image even if dirt from the fingers is left on the touch panel containing the icons disposed on the display screen. Additionally, there is no concern of image quality deterioration, because the source video image is an image with an aspect ratio of 4:3 and is displayed without changing this aspect ratio.

  • Patent number: 5666151
Abstract: A video signal provider multiplexes digital video signals for four channels and provides a signal the bandwidth of which is limited to 6 MHz by RF-modulation. An analog video signal provider provides another signal the bandwidth of which is limited to 6 MHz by RF-modulation. A digital audio signal provider multiplexes digital audio signals for 32 channels and provides another signal the bandwidth of which is limited to 6 MHz by RF-modulation. Such signals are combined and transmitted through a coaxial cable 14 to a controller. In this example, such signal providing apparatus can provide a maximum of 84 channels (=126 MHz (the bandwidth for video signal of the coaxial cable)/6 MHz.times.4 ch), which number is significantly larger than the 20 channels provided in the prior art.
