  • Patent number: 10439476
Abstract: A cooling structure for a rotating electric machine includes a stator, a plurality of refrigerant supply ports, and a refrigerant supply passage. The stator includes a stator core, an insulating member, and a plurality of coils. Each of the plurality of coils includes a corner portion having an arc shape when viewed in a radial direction. The plurality of refrigerant supply ports are arranged at a distance from the plurality of coils in a rotational axis direction. Each of the plurality of refrigerant supply ports is arranged at a position opposite to the corner portion located at a vertically upper side, on both sides of an imaginary vertical plane.

  • Patent number: 8046126
Abstract: The start control is repeatedly performed for an oil pump that pressure feeds the flow of oil in a motor cooling system. This control is repeated for every specified rise in motor temperature (e.g., every 10° C.) from an initial starting temperature. This arrangement increases the potential for a successful start-up of the oil pump even when the oil has a high viscosity due to a relatively low outside air temperature. In the event of a failed start-up of the oil pump by repeated starting, the start control determines an abnormality exists in the oil pump or its power supply if an outside air temperature is greater than a reference temperature. This arrangement effectively eliminates incorrect detection of an abnormality in the oil pump or its power supply.

  • Publication number: 20080109129
Abstract: The start control of the invention repeatedly performs a start-up process for a start of an oil pump, which pressure feeds the flow of oil in a motor cooling system, at the timings of rise in either of motor temperatures by every 10° C. from a preset initial starting temperature. This arrangement heightens the potential for a successful start-up of the oil pump even when the oil flow has a high viscosity due to a relatively low outside air temperature Tout. In the event of a failed start-up of the oil pump by repetition of the start-up process, the start control specifies the occurrence of an abnormality in the oil pump or in the power supply to the oil pump at the outside air temperature of not lower than a preset reference temperature, while not specifying the occurrence of an abnormality in the oil pump or in the power supply to the oil pump at the outside air temperature of lower than the preset reference temperature.
