Patent number: 6278581Abstract: A floating magnetic head comprising a substantially rectangular slider made of a non-magnetic substance and having leading and trailing ends. The slider is provided with a groove which gradually increases in depth along one side of the slider extending toward the trailing end and has an opening at the trailing end. The slider has rails mounted on a surface of the slider that is opposite to a magnetic recording medium to produce a floating force. A magnetic head core is bonded to one side of the slider. The core has a read/write gap, first and second legs, an inclined face opposite to the bonding surface, and a track width on the surface opposite to the magnetic recording medium. The second leg is located at the trailing end of the slider without protruding from the trailing end.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1995Date of Patent: August 21, 2001Assignee: Minebea Co., Ltd.Inventors: Motoji Egawa, Kazutoshi Takayanagi, Akio Takayama, Tetsuji Fujita, Akinobu Sano

Patent number: 5548459Abstract: A floating magnetic head including a spacer, made from a nonmagnetic substance and which is equal or longer than a head core, is interposed between a slider made from a magnetic substance and the head core. In an alternative embodiment, a part of the slider is made from a nonmagnetic substance and the head core is secured thereon, and coils are wound in opposite senses around core legs of the head core. The present invention shields a noise of an external magnetic field with the slider and improves a recording performance because the slider is isolated magnetically and a magnetic resistance of the slider becomes smaller than that of the head core.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1995Date of Patent: August 20, 1996Assignee: Minebea Co., Ltd.Inventors: Motoji Egawa, Tetsuji Fujita, Akinobu Sano, Kazutoshi Takayanagi

Patent number: 5546251Abstract: A floating magnetic head comprising a slider and a head core integral with the slider. The slider is made of a nonmagnetic material such as barium titanate or calcium titanate. The slider has rails on its surface opposite to a magnetic recording medium to produce a floating force. The head core has a read/write gap. The head core is equipped with a winding. The core is disposed on the outside of the slider and has a tapering thickness.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1995Date of Patent: August 13, 1996Assignee: Minebea Co., Ltd.Inventors: Motoji Egawa, Kazutoshi Takayanagi, Akio Takayama, Tetsuji Fujita, Akinobu Sano

Patent number: 5485332Abstract: A floating magnetic head includes a nearly rectangular non-magnetic slider having a floating surface for generating a floating force against a magnetic recording medium, and a magnetic head core including trailing and leading portions made of a magnetic thin film material laminated into a thickness equivalent to a track width and sandwiched by non-magnetic substrates. The magnetic head core is bonded via glass to a side portion of the slider so that a magnetic gap is located on the surface which slides against the magnetic recording medium and the magnetic head core is made shorter than the length of the side of the slider. A chamfered portion is formed in at least one side of the magnetic head core.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1993Date of Patent: January 16, 1996Assignee: Minebea Co., Ltd.Inventors: Motoji Egawa, Tetsuji Fujita

Patent number: 5078423Abstract: The air bag 3 of this invention includes a suspension member 6, which is furnished between the base cloth on the side facing the person in the vehicle and the base cloth to be fixed on the fixed portion of car body or between the former base cloth and the fixed portion of car body. When inflated, the shape of said air bag is maintained in the predetermined shape by said suspension member. The suspension string 6 consists of a plurality of single strings 6.sub.1 and 6.sub.2, and these single strings have the sewn portions 6f to be sewn on the base cloth 3a on the side facing to said person in vehicle and all or almost all sewn portions 6f of the single strings are overlapped on each other, and these are sewn together with the base cloth 3b on the side facing to the person in vehicle. This makes it possible to increase the strength of the sewn portions and to effectively cut the base cloth. By overlapping the entire sewn portions, the positioning of single strings can be performed much easier.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1990Date of Patent: January 7, 1992Assignee: Takata CorporationInventor: Tetsuji Fujita
