  • Patent number: 9023906
Abstract: To provide a propylene-based copolymer and a propylene-based copolymer composition, each of which has a high melt tension because it has a long-chain branched structure, exhibits excellent molding processability during molding, such as inflation molding, extrusion molding, blow molding, injection molding or vacuum forming, and is capable of favorably providing a foamed product having an excellent expansion ratio and excellent cell uniformity in the foaming stage. The propylene-based copolymer (A) of the present invention comprises 50 to 95% by mol of constituent units [i] derived from propylene, 4.9 to 49.9% by mol of constituent units [ii] derived from an ?-olefin of 2 to 10 carbon atoms other than propylene and 0.1 to 10% by mol of constituent units [iii] derived from a non-conjugated polyene (with the proviso that the total amount of the constituent units [i], [ii] and [iii] is 100% by mol), and is characterized by satisfying specific requirements (a) and (c).

  • Patent number: 5856386
Abstract: A crystalline thermoplastic resin composition comprises a rosin acid metallic salt and a crystalline thermoplastic resin. Optionally, a compatibilizing agent may also be included. The rosin acid metallic salt, which acts as a crystal nucleating agent, increases the crystallization rate of the crystalline thermoplastic resin and enables the formation of fine crystals of the resin. Thus, the crystalline thermoplastic resin composition can crystallize at a high rate, and provide molded articles having excellent mechanical properties and/or optical properties.

  • Patent number: 5395869
Abstract: The cycloolefin resin compositions of the present invention comprise a thermoplastic resin containing an olefin polymer having an alicyclic structure, specific stabilizers selected from phenolic stabilizers, organic thioether stabilizers, organic phosphite stabilizers, UV-ray absorbers and hindered amine stabilizers. The cycloolefin resin compositions show excellent thermal aging resistance and weathering resistance by the use of specific stabilizers, and therefore they are favorably used for forming optical instrument parts. Furthermore, the thermoplastic resin may be prepared from an olefin polymer having an alicyclic structure and a flexible polymer or flexible polymers. The incorporation of the flexible polymer especially improves the mechanical strength of the resultant products, and therefore the resin compositions are favorably used for machine parts, electronic parts, automobile parts, etc.
