  • Patent number: 4661717
Abstract: A load condition determining apparatus having a drive circuit having first and second MOS-transistors, the drains of the MOS-transistors are connected to a power supply respectively, the control-gate thereof are connected to a voltage stepping circuit, and the source of the first MOS-transistor is connected both to a load circuit and to one input terminal of a differential amplifier while the source of the second MOS-transistor is connected both to a load equivalence circuit having resistors and a capacitor and to the other input terminal of the amplifier. The resistance of the load equivalence circuit is equalized with the resultant resistance component of the load circuit while the time constant of the capacitance and part of the resistance of the load equivalence circuit is modeled after the rush current of the load circuit, when operated, in the apparatus according to the invention.

  • Patent number: 4214558
Abstract: A fuel control system for an internal combustion engine includes an exhaust gas sensor from which feedback control signal is derived, a limiter for limiting the maximum and minimum voltages of the control signal and a triangular wave generator. The triangular wave has a constant amplitude peak of which the maximum value is slightly greater than the maximum voltage of the control signal and the minimum value is slightly below the minimum voltage of the control signal. A comparator is provided to produce an output at one of two binary levels depending upon whether the control signal is above or below the instantaneous value of the triangular wave. The output from the comparator is a train of pulses whose duty cycle ranges from predetermined minimum to maximum values which correspond respectively to the minimum open and closure times of air-fuel mixing control valves.

  • Patent number: 4016426
Abstract: A control circuit for actuating an inflatable air cushion in a motor vehicle includes an electrically operated actuator comprising a plurality of squibs and a plurality of diodes having their anodes connected to one sides of the squibs, respectively. The actuator is connected between first and second normally open vehicle collision responsive switches. A first resistor is connected across the first switch while a second resistor connected across the second switch thereby to normally establish a potential at a first junction between the first switch and actuator, a potential at second junctions between the diodes and the squibs and a potential at a third junction between the actuator and the second switch.

  • Patent number: 3980999
Abstract: The steering movement of a motor vehicle is translated into an electrical signal which increases as the steering wheel rotates in one direction and decreases as the steering operation is reversed. This signal is applied to a minimum value detecting and storage circuit and a maximum value detecting and storage circuit, each including a storage capacitor, a switching diode for controlling the charge or discharge of the capacitor, and a bypass switching circuit connected across the diode. The diode of the minimum detector is connected such that it allows the capacitor to be discharged, while the diode of the maximum detector allows the capacitor to be charged. The bypass switching circuit of the minimum detector provides a charging path to the capacitor, while the bypass circuit of the maximum detector provides a discharging path to the capacitor. The voltages developed across the two capacitors are measured and compared with a reference voltage.
