  • Publication number: 20030044599
Abstract: Provided is a wet pressure-sensitive adhesive composition which comprises, as a component A, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl pyrrolidone, a vinyl pyrrolidone.vinyl acetate copolymer, polyethylene oxide and the half ester of a methyl vinyl ether.maleic anhydride copolymer; as a component B, a liquid plasticizer compatible with the component A; and as a component C, a filler. The combination of the component C with components A and B makes it possible to provide a wet pressure-sensitive adhesive composition which exhibits tackiness in the presence of water or a hydrophilic medium, adheres well to the application site, dries speedily after adhesion, has high mechanical strength after drying and can be peeled off easily. The wet pressure-sensitive adhesive composition is therefore useful as a facial pack material such as peel-off pack for the removal of horny plugs formed in the skin pores or a skin covering material for the moist or wet skin surface.

  • Patent number: 6203900
Abstract: A pressure sensitive adhesive sheet for the detection of microorganisms, which comprises a laminate of an adhesive layer mainly composed of a water-soluble polymer and a water-permeable membrane which does not allow passage of the microorganisms; a pressure sensitive adhesive sheet for the detection of microorganisms, wherein the surface of the adhesive layer has a contact angle with water of not more than 90°; and a method for detecting a microorganism, which comprises bringing the surface of an adhesive layer of a pressure sensitive adhesive sheet into contact with the surface of a test object, and then bringing the surface of the adhesive layer into contact with water, said adhesive layer or water containing a chromogenic reagent. The use of the laminate makes it possible to leave only stained microorganisms on the water-permeable membrane and to precisely observe the color developed by the microorganisms.

  • Patent number: 5429590
Abstract: A medical water-absorptive polymer, a dressing for wound using the polymer and a medical bandage using the polymer are disclosed. The medical water-absorptive polymer comprising a medical water-absorptive polymer comprising an acrylic copolymer obtained by copolymerizing an acrylic composition comprising from 60 to 80% by weight of an alkoxyalkyl acrylate, from 20 to 40% by weight of an N-vinyllactam, and 10% by weight or less of a vinylcarboxylic acid.

  • Patent number: 5266371
Abstract: An adhesive dressing sheet is disclosed, comprising a polymer film having a high flexibility, an adhesive layer provided on one side of the polymer film, a peeling liner temporarily provided on the adhesive layer, and a flexible sheet on the other side of the polymer film, wherein a bending line is provided on the peeling liner in a direction almost at right angles to the peeling direction of the liner, and the flexible sheet has self supporting properties such that when the liner is peeled off up to the bending line and bent, the liner bending piece does not expand to an angle of 90.degree. or more.
