  • Publication number: 20160292516
Abstract: The present invention is a two-wheel vehicle riding person number determination system including an imaging means configured to image a two-wheel vehicle that is installed in a predetermined position and travels on a road, and a two-wheel vehicle riding person number determining means configured to process an image of the imaging means, extract a contour shape of an upper position of the two-wheel vehicle that travels on the road, detect humped shapes corresponding to heads of persons who ride on the two-wheel vehicle from the contour shape of the upper position of the two-wheel vehicle, and determine, on the basis of the humped shapes, whether or not the number of the persons who ride on the two-wheel vehicle is at least two persons or more.

  • Publication number: 20160292662
Abstract: A POS terminal device capable of improving a recognition rate in a process for recognizing a commodity irrespective of the surrounding environment is provided. A POS terminal device (1) includes a brightness measurement unit (2), an irradiation unit (4), an image pickup unit (6), and a recognition process unit (8). The brightness measurement unit (2) measures the brightness of environmental light around the POS terminal device (1). The irradiation unit (4) irradiates a commodity with light, the light being adjusted according to the brightness of the environmental light measured by the brightness measurement unit (2). The image pickup unit (6) shoots the commodity irradiated with the light by the irradiation unit (4) and thereby generates an image thereof. The recognition process unit (8) performs a process for recognizing the commodity based on the image generated by the shooting performed by the image-pickup unit (6).

  • Publication number: 20160232418
Abstract: An object detection apparatus, etc., capable of detecting an object area with greater precision is disclosed. Such an object detection apparatus is provided with: a part area indication means for indicating a part area which is an area including a target part among parts forming an object including an detection-target object, from a plurality of images including the object; an appearance probability distribution generation means for generating an appearance probability distribution and the absence probability distribution of the part area based on the appearance frequency of the part area associated with each position in the images; and an object determination means for determining, in an input image, the area including the object, with reference to the appearance probability distribution and the absence probability distribution of the part area.
