Abstract: A protective agent for printed matters obtained by printing with water-based inks. It comprises: at least 50% low-boiling hydrocarbon solvent based on all solvents and an oleophilic resin soluble therein. The proportion of the low-boiling hydrocarbon solvent to the oleophilic resin is from 97/3 to 40/60 by weight. The low-boiling hydrocarbon solvent has a boiling point of 50 to 110° C. Example of the low-boiling hydrocarbon solvent include pentane, hexane, heptane, octane, and hexamethylsiloxane. Example of the oleophilic resin include acrylic ester copolymer resins, silicone-acrylic resins, methyl phenyl silicone resins, and 1,2-polybutadiene elastomers.

  • Patent number: 5989640
Abstract: A propellant-free composition for lustering and protecting a surface such as a rubber sidewall of a vehicle tire or a vinyl or similar surface. The composition has (1) from about 10 wt. % to 100 wt. % of a high molecular weight liquid linear polysiloxane having a molecular weight above about 550, and (2) from 0 wt. % to about 90 wt. % of a low molecular weight liquid linear and/or cyclic polysiloxane having a molecular weight below about 550. Surface activity of the silicone component of the composition is such that the high molecular weight polysiloxane functions to produce a high luster, while the low molecular weight polysiloxane functions as an evaporative carrier-solvent diluent medium for delivery of the silicone component to the surface and to produce an even distribution on that surface.

  • Patent number: 4880557
Abstract: A spray lustering-cleansing agent is produced by preparing a basic material substantially comprising 5.0 to 60 wt % of silicone oil obtained by emulsifying silicone oil with water in the presence of an emulsifier, 0.1 to 10.0 wt % of an emulsifier, and water and charging a spray can with the basic material in combination with a foam regulating agent and a propellant. A single spray is enough for the lustering-cleansing agent to clean a dirty tire and, at the same time, impart luster to the surface. Additional incorporation of a water-soluble organic base in the agent enables this agent to manifest an improved foaming property and consequently an improved lustering-cleansing effect.
