  • Publication number: 20160098615
Abstract: In order to produce an image processing filter by utilizing genetic programming, a taught parameter acquiring unit acquires a taught parameter indicating a feature shape in an input image before processing. A data processing unit creates an output image by processing the input image with an image processing filter, and subsequently a feature extracting unit extracts a detected parameter indicating a feature shape in the output image. An automatic configuring unit evaluates the image processing filter by calculating cosine similarity between the taught parameter and the detected parameter.

  • Publication number: 20150287160
Abstract: An image processing apparatus is disclosed. A processor performs a process that arranges multiple image filters in a tree structure and acquires features of multiple input images captured in different environments. A storage part stores a filter table that maintains information concerning the multiple image filters. In the process, an image filter having a different type for each of layers, in which multiple image processes are hierarchized, is selected from the filter table. A population, which includes the multiple image filters in the tree structure, is generated.

  • Patent number: 7418393
Abstract: A frame, which is the data unit, is extracted without decoding MPEG audio data. Then, a scale factor included in the frame is extracted and an evaluation function is calculated based on the scale factor. If the value of the evaluation function is larger than a prescribed threshold value, the speed of the frame is converted. If the value of the evaluation function is smaller than the prescribed threshold value, the frame is judged to be a frame in a silent section and neglected. The speed conversion is made by thinning out frames or repeating the same frame as many times as required according to prescribed rules.

  • Patent number: 7272183
Abstract: An information collecting unit reads encoded moving image data from an information storing unit, decodes part of the moving image data, extracts the number and the magnitudes of motion vectors, the square measure of a region having a low correlation with a preceding/succeeding frame, etc. for each frame, and outputs these items of scene change information to an evaluation function calculating unit. The evaluation function calculating unit calculates the value of a predetermined evaluation function based on the scene change information, and outputs the calculated value to a scene change determining unit. The scene change determining unit determines a frame of a scene change by making a comparison between the calculated value and a threshold value. A scene change information storing unit stores the scene change information used for the determination.

  • Patent number: 6807363
Abstract: The present invention relates to an image reproducing device, and an image recording/reproducing device, which reproduce encoded image data. With these devices, special reproduction such as reproduction at an arbitrary speed-multiple, etc., and special recording/reproduction can be made with ease. A packet information generating unit (23) generates packet information composed of PTS (Presentation Time Stamp) included in a packet header of an MPEG stream, and a file address of the packet header. A controlling unit obtains a reproduction point of an MPEG stream based on the packet information referenced by a packet information referencing unit (25), reads the corresponding MPEG stream from the information storing unit (24), and outputs the read stream to a decoding unit (26). The decoding unit (26) decodes and outputs the MPEG stream.

  • Patent number: 4805224
Abstract: Disclosed is a pattern matching method and apparatus, in which an object pattern is collated with a master pattern using pattern matching. As a first step, an area corresponding to a master pattern size is sequentially extracted from a master sample image for forming the master pattern, each extracted pattern is collated and the other patterns in the master sample image. An extracted pattern which has a minimum similarity to all the other patterns, and, as a result, shows the most distinctive pattern, is used for the master pattern. Using the present method and apparatus, pattern matching having a higher recognition rate can be performed. Further, using the present pattern matching method, an apparatus can be obtained for positioning the object to be recognized with a highest positioning accuracy.
