  • Publication number: 20060097616
Abstract: A lamp (1) including: a straight arc tube (10); and a pair of bases (20). Each base includes: a base body (30) fixed to an end of the arc tube (10); and a terminal attachment body (40) fixed to the base body (30) being shaped like a cap and including: a cylindrical body (31); and an opening (33). The terminal attachment body (40) includes a protuberant portion (43) that is oval and protrudes in a direction opposite to the arc tube along the tube axial. While the protuberant portion (43) protrudes through the opening (33), the terminal attachment body (40) is fixed to the base body (30) by the knurling method in which the peripheral of the end portion of the cylindrical body (31) is given a pressure so as to be knurled and embedded into the terminal attachment body (40).

  • Patent number: 6793373
Abstract: To provide a bulb-type lamp in which a globe is fixed to a case without a tilt, and a manufacturing method for the bulb-type lamp. The globe is bonded to a connector using a thermosetting resin, in a state where a neck part of the globe is inserted in a groove of the connector without contacting the bottom of the groove. The connector is then fixed to the case by means of a fitting construction. This makes it unnecessary to perform a heating process to cure an adhesive after an envelope is formed by the globe and the case. Hence the tilting of the globe caused by the thermal expansion of air in the envelope can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 6734633
Abstract: In a bulb-form lamp, a threaded portion 31 of a lamp cap 5, that is, a shell 30 is made of a conductive resin. The conductive resin shell 30 and an eyelet 50 constituting the lamp cap 5 are composite parts, which are molded integrally with a lamp case 20. A part of the conductive resin shell 30 is provided with a terminal connective portion 30a projecting into the lamp case 20. The terminal connective portion 30a is connected with an electrode terminal 40 led out of a printed circuit board 13 of a lighting circuit 14 so that the conductive resin shell 30 and the lighting circuit 14 are electrically connected. By doing so, it is possible to simplify the assembly of bulb-form lamp, and to reduce an assembly cost, and further, to manufacture a bulb-form lamp having a high quality and a lamp case for the bulb-form lamp.

  • Patent number: 6653770
Abstract: Without applying soldering or plasma arc welding, a lead wire is brought into connection with an eyelet easily and reliably so that lighting failure due to incomplete contact is prevented and cost saving is achieved. A base (7) has a screw form shell (8) and an eyelet (9). An end portion of the shell (8) is provided with the eyelet (9) via an insulator. A lead wire (11a) supplying power is brought into connection with a portion of the eyelet (9) at other than an outer surface of the eyelet.

  • Patent number: 6607290
Abstract: A tubular light bulb device includes an arc tube, a lighting circuit for lighting the arc tube, a case housing the lighting circuit and having a base at one end, and a heat-transferring member disposed in the case for conducting heat from a space formed in the case to the base. This allows the tubular light bulb device to discharge heat in the space formed in the case to the outside to reduce temperature of a phosphor film and electronic parts of the lighting circuit, whereby increased life can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6482061
Abstract: A method for producing a lamp includes forming a tubular portion that is protruded in an end of an eyelet of a base of a lamp; drawing a lead wire for supplying power out of the tubular portion; and fusing the lead wire and the tubular portion with the eyelet by plasma arc welding. This ensures that plasma arc can be discharged to the protruded tubular portion, and therefore the tubular portion and the lead wire are fused with the eyelet of the base satisfactorily and stably. In the present invention, a tubular sleeve can be used in place of the tubular portion.
