  • Patent number: 7128311
Abstract: A vibration damping actuator including: a cup-shaped housing; an output member disposed spaced apart from an opening end of the housing; a guide rod disposed on the output member and positioned inserted into a guide hole; a coil member provided to one of the housing and the output member; an armature disposed on an other of the housing and the output member, the armature being adapted to exert actuating force on the output member; an annular fixing member arranged about the output member; a support rubber plate disposed between the annular fixing member and the output member; and a positioning projection formed at an inside peripheral edge of the fixing member by projecting the inside peripheral edge of the fixing member in cylindrical configuration in an axial direction towards an inside of the housing. The positioning projection is disposed at a location situated inward by a predetermined distance from the opening of the housing for positioning the fixing member relative to the housing.

  • Patent number: 7066454
Abstract: An active type vibration isolating support system includes: an elastic body for elastically supporting a vibratory body; a liquid chamber to be defined by the elastic body; a movable member for changing capacity of the liquid chamber; and an actuator for driving the movable member. The actuator has: a fixed core; a movable core coupled to the movable member for being arranged opposite to the fixed core via an air gap; and a coil for generating an electromagnetic attracting force between the fixed and movable cores. The movable member and the movable core are coupled together through coupling units capable of adjusting the air gap. Thus, without preparing several types of coupling members, it is possible to obtain a desired vibration isolating characteristic by freely adjusting the air gap between the fixed core and the movable core.

  • Patent number: 6979023
Abstract: A pound or number sign shaped (#-shaped) die cast sub-frame includes first and second horizontal members and first and second vertical members. The sub-frame has four arm mounting portions provided at four corners thereof, respectively. The arm mounting portion is a die cast part obtained near a communication portion of a runner formed in a die casting machine. Generally triangular bulged portions are formed at junction portions where the first horizontal member meets the first and second vertical members. Each junction portion has increased width. The junction portion is a die cast obtained within a cavity of increased width of the die casting machine. The bulged portion is pierced to provide a hole. The bulged portion having the hole formed therein is to be mounted to a small vehicle component.

  • Patent number: 6612593
Abstract: A suspension structure includes a subframe and a suspension arm. The suspension structure has strength lower than that of the subframe. When an excessive external force acts from a road surface on a wheel, the suspension arm is deformed before the subframe is, thereby preventing the excessive external force from directly acting on the subframe.

  • Patent number: 6422546
Abstract: An active vibration isolating support device for preventing the direct transmission of vibrations from an engine to a vehicle body frame includes an electromagnetic actuator for driving a movable member in a reciprocating fashion to change the capacity of a first liquid chamber. A shaft portion of an armature driven by a coil is supported by a bearing so that it moves along an axis, whereby the size of an air gap can be maintained as small as possible, thereby making it possible to miniaturize the coil. In addition, a connecting rod for connecting the movable member with the armature is supported so as to sway relative to a coil spring and a saucer spring, whereby the vibration of the movable member is prevented from being transmitted to the shaft portion of the armature.

  • Patent number: 5947455
Abstract: A vibration-proof mount includes an inner shell member comprised of a center pipe and a bush, and an outer shell member including a first collar and a second collar. The center pipe and the outer shell member are connected to each other by first and second elastomer members with a liquid encapsulated therein. A liquid chamber is formed between the first and second elastomer members and expanded and contracted in volume by a load, and an orifice is defined in the first elastomer member and connected to the liquid chamber. The orifice is formed by only a wall surface of the first elastomer member and hence, the sectional area of a flow path in the orifice can be insured to prevent a difference in characteristic between individuals of the vibration-proof mount, as compared with the case where the orifice is defined between a plurality of members.

  • Patent number: 5639073
Abstract: A fluid-filled elastic engine mount for a motor vehicle having an engine, comprising a first and a second mounting member which are connected by an elastic body that partially defines a pressure-receiving chamber, a flexible diaphragm member which partially defines an equilibrium chamber, and orifice means for effecting fluid communication between the pressure-receiving and equilibrium chambers. The orifice means defines a first and a second orifice passage which are respectively tuned to adjust respective different components of the idling vibrations of the engine, and a third orifice passage which is tuned to a frequency range lower than that of the engine idling vibrations.

  • Patent number: 5443574
Abstract: A liquid-sealing type vibration-isolating device has a primary fluid chamber and a subsidiary fluid chamber which communicate with each other through a short idle orifice and a long shock orifice, and a switch-over valve for connecting the primary and subsidiary fluid chambers with each other through the idle orifice in the low speed revolution range of an engine mounted on the device and through the long shock orifice in the medium-high speed revolution range. During the shifting of the switch-over valve, in order to prevent sudden increase in the spring constant of the device, the primary fluid is short-circuited with the subsidiary fluid chamber through a communication port, the inside of a valve member, a communication bore and an auxiliary communication passage.
