Abstract: Compounds of formula (I): ##STR1## (wherein R.sup.1 is carboxy, --CONR.sup.4 R.sup.5, cyano or hydroxymethyl, and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are hydrogen, alkyl or substituted alkyl, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 being hydrogen or a variety of groups) have good antibiotic activity and reduced renal toxicity.

Abstract: Novel cephalosporin derivatives having a (1-alkyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl)vinyl group at the 3-position of the cephem nucleus and showing an excellent antibacterial activity are disclosed. A process for preparing the cephalosporin derivatives is also disclosed.

Abstract: Aminoalkanol derivatives having the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents hydrogen atoms or a halogen atom, R.sub.2 represents hydrogen atom or fluorine atom and A represents an alkylene group having 1-4 carbon atoms. The aminoalkanol derivatives are useful as a minor tranquilizer and can be prepared by reacting the corresponding 2-amino-.alpha.-phenylbenzylideneaminoalkanol derivative with an aminocarboxylic acid.

Abstract: 7.alpha.-Methoxy-7.beta.-tetrazolylmethylthioacetamido-3-cephem derivatives which have a heterothiomethyl substituent in the 3-position are novel compounds which are useful as antimicrobial agents.
