  • Patent number: 7242439
Abstract: An object of this invention is to control operations of electric apparatuses other than a television receiver successively with an operation of the television receiver. The television receiver 1 includes an other-apparatus-code storage section 15, a successive control section 12, an other-apparatus-code output processing section 17, a transmission section 3, and a successive operation definition unit for making a specific operation of the television receiver 1 and specific operations of the other electric apparatuses correspond to one another in advance. The other-apparatus-code storage section 15 stores control codes for the other electric apparatuses.

  • Publication number: 20040264926
Abstract: This invention provides a video receiver which displays a thumbnail index image which shows an outline of recorded contents in a recording medium to be reproduced by reproducing means connected to the video receiver when the video receiver is turned on. The video receiver, which includes a television monitor and to which the reproducing means is connected, is constituted as follows. When the video receiver is turned on, a recording medium thumbnail index image is read from the recording medium of the reproducing means, and this recording medium thumbnail index image is displayed on the television monitor.

  • Publication number: 20040240853
Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a video signal reproducing system wherein at a time when it is determined in the course of recording or reproduction that contents information is unnecessary, erasing or control for erasing is executed to thereby prevent unnecessary contents information from being accumulated on a recording medium as much as possible, enabling the recording medium to be efficiently utilized without making a wasteful use of a storage capacity of the recording medium. A process flow comprises the steps of detecting whether or not a stop key is operated during a video processing, stopping recording if yes, operating a timer, detecting whether or not the stop key is operated again in a predetermined time, checking whether or not a file sort-out is set to “ON” if the stop key is operated again in the predetermined time, and automatically executing an erase processing of a file being currently recorded, thereby completing the process flow.

  • Publication number: 20040141431
Abstract: This invention enables moving whichever position of a file recorded on a recording medium to a designated position by simple operation and starting reproduction. The number of times of operation of a rapid traverse key or a rapid return key input in a reproduction stop state are counted. If the number of times of operation is two or more, there is a simple reproduction command. Time is designated according to this number of times of operation. If the present position in the reproduction stop state is moved forward or backward by as much as the designated time and a position corresponding to the designated time is detected, the reproduction is started.

  • Publication number: 20040076060
Abstract: A recording/reproducing apparatus which can set up another timer reservation program while a timer reservation recording is continuously kept performing. When an “additional reservation” key is operated in the course of a timer reservation recording execution, an additional reservation screen is displayed. On the basis of an end time of a program currently in the course of recording execution, a recording start time of an additional reservation is input by calculating as to the time when a recording start time of a desired program starts after the recording end time. A recording time, a channel number or the like are also input together. When the “additional reservation” key is again operated, a new timer reservation program is set up. Even in the midst of such setting up, a timer recording is being performed.
