  • Publication number: 20080274405
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a cathode active material for an alkaline battery with a lamellar crystal structure including nickel oxyhydroxide. The cathode active material has a diffraction peak at a position that ranges from 8.4 degrees to 10.4 degrees in diffraction angle 2? by X-ray diffraction using CuK?-rays. In addition, the present invention provides an alkaline battery having a cathode having a cathode active material, an anode having an anode active material, and an alkaline water solution as an electrolytic solution. Furthermore, the present invention provides a manufacturing method for a cathode active material for an alkaline battery with a lamellar crystal structure including nickel oxyhydroxide. The manufacturing method has an oxidation process for manufacturing the cathode active material by oxidizing a starting material made from ?-type nickel hydroxide with a lamellar crystal structure in an airstream including alkaline water solution or alkali.

Abstract: An alkaline storage battery 1 has: a cathode 2 containing ?-type nickel hydroxide and/or ?-type nickel oxyhydroxide as a cathode active material; an anode 3 containing an anode active material; and an alkaline aqueous solution as an electrolytic solution 4. The alkaline storage battery 1 is configured to restrain at least part of a crystal structure of the cathode active material from changing due to charging or discharging and to restrain the cathode active material from exhibiting a new diffraction peak at a position that ranges from 8.4 degrees to 10.4 degrees in X-ray diffraction angle 2? by X-ray diffraction using CuK?-rays. It is preferable that an anion-exchange membrane layer 25 should be provided on a surface of the cathode 2.

  • Publication number: 20060238168
Abstract: A battery characteristic detecting method according to the invention includes a first step in which constant current discharge from a battery is performed at a predetermined current value, and a voltage during constant current discharge is measured; a second step in which overpotential for mass transfer control in the battery or resistance for the mass transfer control in the battery is calculated based on the voltage measured in the first step; and a third step in which a determination that a characteristic change has occurred in the battery is made, when the overpotential for the mass transfer control in the battery or the resistance for the mass transfer control in the battery calculated in the second step is larger than a predetermined threshold value.

  • Patent number: 6999110
Abstract: A three-dimensional image display system utilizing both a light beam reproducing method and a shadowgraph multi-view parallax method, including a color filter is disposed on an observer side of a white-color point light source array, and, in an area apart from the color filter and white point light source, light beams emitted from the white-color point light source are selectively colored by the color filter for generating an image of each point of an object, while in the region in the vicinity of the point light source and the color filter, the light beams are selectively colored by the color filter so that image data reaching the eye from the white-color point light source through the color filter performs a view-dependent parallax stereoscopic display operation not only laterally but also vertically, and in the intermediate region, these two operations are mixed, so that a stereoscopic image is continuously formed.

  • Patent number: 6813083
Abstract: A device for reproducing a three-dimensional image with a background, which device reproduces a three-dimensional image standing out from a background picture. The device includes a white-color point light source array and a color transmission spatial distribution filter having a function of specially weighting intensity and color of light. These components reproduce a three-dimensional image by generating a group of light rays which can be seen as if a three-dimensional color object standing out from the background picture is actually present. Color and/or intensity weights are imparted to the color transmission spatial distribution filter, except for a transmission portion thereof, such that the background picture of the three-dimensional image can be seen at the vicinity of the white-color point light source array or the color transmission spatial distribution filter. The device can be applied to standing-out displays, standing-out signboards, and wall-mounted show windows.

  • Publication number: 20020141056
Abstract: A stereoscopic video display device comprises three video generators for respectively feeding red, green, and blue images, and a light beam synthesis system. Each of the video generators comprises a backlight, a liquid crystal display panel comprising a color transmission film for each of the colors, and a liquid crystal panel driver. The backlight comprises a light source and a pinhole array plate. A group of light beams is given to the liquid crystal display panel from each of pinholes in the pinhole array plate. A liquid crystal display panel driver feeds a pixel driving signal to the liquid crystal display panel, to form a pixel area, composed of a plurality of pixels, corresponding to each of the pinholes. Each of the pixels composing the pixel area controls the amount of light transmission of the light beam in each direction from the corresponding pinhole. Consequently, the intensity of the light beam in each of the directions is reproduced.

  • Patent number: 4796683
Abstract: To prevent tire unbalanced abrasion, that is, tire unbalanced rigidity between the acute angle corners and the obtuse angle corners of blocks forming a tire tread pattern, without decreasing the tire drainage and increasing tire pattern noise, block side walls extending along the main circumferential grooves are sloped down to the bottom of the main grooves in such a way that an inclination angle between the tread surface normal line and the block side wall increases gradually from the obtuse angle corners of the blocks to the acute angle corners thereof. Preferably, the inclination angle is 8 degrees at the obtuse angle corner and 25 degrees at the acute angle corner on the wide main circumferential groove, and 7 degrees at the obtuse angle corner and 13 degrees at the acute angle corner on the main circumferential grooves adjacent to the wide main groove.
