  • Publication number: 20090057038
Abstract: A load cell-type electronic balance is provided, in which a change in load detection sensitivity caused by creep effects is reduced. A load having a predetermined magnitude is loaded to a load cell (1a), used for load detection, for a certain period until creep characteristics of the load cell (1a) are stabilized. The load is sampled and measured by a calculation/control section (3) constructed from a microcomputer, and a correction formula for correcting a temporal change of the load caused by creep effects is calculated and stored. From the next time when the power is turned on, measurement data are corrected using the correction formula.

  • Patent number: 7296466
Abstract: An underwater weighing container for measuring specific gravity, requiring relatively a small amount of reference liquids for measurement and offering wide space for mounting specimens to be measured are provided. The underwater weighing container includes a tubular body and a circular bottom plate. The tubular body has openings on both ends. One end has an introvert circular rim formed thereon and the other end has a plurality of stoppers attached to the internal surface thereof. The circular bottom plate has a mesh or a porous structure and is inserted between the circular rim and the stoppers. The underwater weighing container is immersed in a reference liquid, and a solid specimen is placed on or inserted underneath the bottom plate. The underwater weighing container is hung by means of a hanging member 13 to measure the weight of the solid specimen and determine the specific gravity.

  • Publication number: 20050121237
Abstract: A weight measuring device includes a force measuring cell formed of a Roberval mechanism having a movable pole, a fixed pole, and two parallel beams connecting the movable pole and the fixed pole. At least one of the movable pole and the fixed pole has a plurality of holes formed in a thickness direction thereof. Adaptors are attached to two sides of the one of the movable pole and the fixed pole in the thickness direction. Bolts pass through the holes and the adaptors and are tightened with nuts. At least one of the bolts passes thorough the hole in a direction opposite to that of the other of the bolts. A receptacle plate is attached to the movable pole for supporting a plate for placing the weight thereon.

  • Patent number: 6621015
Abstract: An electronic balance is provided in which influences due to a four-corner error can be eliminated from an indicated value of weighing without strictly conducting mechanical adjustment, so that correct indication can be always performed. As means for attaining the object, a dish support 2 interposed between a weighing dish 3 and a load detecting mechanism 1 is configured by four cantilever beams 2a to 2d which respectively elongate in four directions, the weighing dish 3 is supported by the vicinities of tip ends of the cantilever beams 2a to 2d, and deflection amount detecting means 5a to 5d for respectively detecting deflection amounts of the cantilever beams 2a to 2d are disposed. The position of the center of gravity of a load on the weighing dish 3 is calculated by using outputs of the deflection amount detecting means 5a to 5d.
