Abstract: A content recording/erasing apparatus includes a hard disk. An unnecessary MPEG file recorded on the hard disk is intermittently erased part by part in parallel with a normal recording process. It is noted that prior to a start of erasing the unnecessary MPEG file, time length data relating to a total amount of an actual remaining amount of the hard disk and the unnecessary MPEG file is set in a remaining amount register, and a setting value is periodically subtracted.

Abstract: An AV control system comprises a controller 1 having a plurality of devices connected thereto, remote control ports 15 for outputting control signals, input ports 11, 12 for receiving AV signals, and output ports 13, 14 for outputting AV signals. The controller 1 has a connection table prescribing connection relations between the ports and the devices, and displays the connection relations on a screen of a touch panel input unit 2. When the connection relation is modified by manipulating the input unit 2, the connection table is rewritten based on the result of modification, whereby the device is connectable to the controller 1 with greater ease than in the prior art.

Abstract: An AV control system comprises a controller having a plurality of AV devices connected thereto, and a touch panel input unit having a touch panel covering a screen. For each of contents select buttons for commanding operations, the controller has stored therein a button code for specifying the position of the button displayed, an operation code for specifying an operation and a button name data indicating the name of the button. Two select buttons manipulated on a contents arrangement frame displayed on the input unit are replaced with each other with respect to the operations codes and the button name data in a contents arrangement table, whereby the contents select buttons are made convenient and efficient to use.
