  • Patent number: 5492582
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device, in which predetermined portions of two glass plates bonded to each other with a sealing member interposed therebetween and constituting the display device, can be cut without turning over the bonded two glass plates and without breaking necessary portions thereof. In the method of manufacturing the liquid crystal display device, first, an upper one of the bonded two glass plates is half cut from its upper surface with a blade, and unnecessary portions of the upper glass plate are removed by the use of a vacuum suction head. Thereafter, predetermined portions of exposed portions of a lower one of the bonded two glass plates are fully cut with the blade. In accordance with it, it is not necessary to turn over the the bonded two glass plates-to cut it into a plurality of units, and, therefore, a cutting process can be performed automatically.

  • Patent number: 5288663
Abstract: In a method for extending a wafer-supporting sheet of a wafer-supporting table for dicing, the wafer-supporting sheet can be extended by using a single tool, and a total height of a wafer-supporting device can be reduced while the sheet is extended. In this wafer-supporting sheet extending method, a substantially C-shaped extension spring is arranged on a lower surface of the wafer-supporting sheet, on which a wafer divided into chips is placed, so that the sheet is extended. Thus, since the wafer-supporting sheet can be extended by a single tool (the C-shaped extension spring) and the extension spring can be made thin, the total height of the wafer-supporting device can be reduced while the sheet is extended.

  • Patent number: 4209926
Abstract: A display device of louvre arrangement wherein a display or exhibit is constituted by a group of parallel interleaved strips which are arranged in overlapping relation. The display device has a plurality of such groups. The display device has a driving mechanism having a cam arrangement, driving device, connecting members and a guide device, and cam followers each having an arm at the upper portion. The display device further comprises a frame structure releasably engaged with the connecting members of the driving mechanism, and elongated rigid elements movable together with the strips. Each elongated rigid element has an engaging member for contacting the arm of the cam follower to thereby shift the rigid elements and strips of one group in cooperation with a vertical movement of the cam followers.
