  • Patent number: 8597823
Abstract: A battery includes: a first member having an opening a housing space which houses a generation element; and a second member which closes the opening of the first member. The first member and the second member have welded portions which are welded to each other. A groove which can receive a part of molten metal MM generated upon welding is formed in a channel between the first and the second member, i.e., from the welded portion to the housing space. This prevents flow of the molten metal generation upon welding to the housing space. A vehicle using the battery and a method for manufacturing such a battery are also provided.
